Fostering Hope of Muskogee Fostering Hope provides support to children from the moment they enter foster care and throughout their journey. Visit fosteringhopemuskogee.org to learn more.

Fostering Hope exists to meet the needs of foster children across Oklahoma. When a child is removed and placed in foster care, financial aid is not received immediately. Children typically bring little to nothing in their possessions. The possessions they do bring are carried out of the home in a trash bag. Our state has taken to heart our goal of no more "trash bags" kids. With a backpack full of everything they need, foster children of all ages feel loved and nurtured. We have expanded our services for removed children with the Fostering Hope House. Instead of extended waiting at DHS offices, this facility will offer a safe and friendly place for children to await placement. Bathing facilities, a kitchen, and a respite space make a traumatic time less frightening, and more comfortable for children. In addition we also offer on/the-go Birthday Parties for children in foster care.
*If you have a new placement and need an emergency bag, have an upcoming birthday for a foster child, or if you are a social worker and need to bring a child to the hope house please reach out. We are here 24/7. For more information go to: fosteringhopemuskogee.org

Sometimes the right pair of shoes can change the whole mood.

This sweet guy stopped by Fostering Hope with his worker to pick up a Bag of Hope. While he was here, we measured his feet and helped him find exactly what he wanted — a new pair of shoes without laces.

He chose a blue pair, put them on, and was so excited that he left Fostering Hope dancing outside in his new shoes.

That’s why the details matter.

It’s not simply about giving a child something new. It’s about listening, finding what works for *them*, and creating a moment where they feel seen and cared for.

Thanks to everyone who helps us keep our shelves stocked and makes moments like this possible.

A little friendly fall competition at the Fostering Hope House.

We recently welcomed DHS teams from Wagoner and Cherokee counties for pizza, pumpkin decorating, and some well-earned time to connect and have a little fun together.

And they did not hold back on the pumpkins, these creations had some serious effort behind them.

A big thank you to Local Bank for stepping in as our official judges and helping crown the winners!

We’re grateful for every opportunity to bring together the people who spend so much of their time supporting children and families across Oklahoma.

Big moments are even more meaningful when you get to share them with the people who helped you get there.

Fostering Hope’s trip to Washington, D.C. was about advocacy, connection, and carrying the stories of Oklahoma’s children and families all the way to Capitol Hill.

But it was also about community.

Executive Director Annie Czaruk was surrounded by family and friends who traveled alongside her, celebrated this incredible recognition, and have supported both Annie and the mission of Fostering Hope through so many chapters along the way.

During the week, Annie connected with fellow Angels in Adoption honorees, met with congressional staff, and shared what Fostering Hope sees firsthand in child welfare — the progress being made, the challenges that remain, and the opportunities to continue showing up for kids.

None of this work happens alone.

From the people advocating in Washington to the family, friends, volunteers, donors, professionals, and community members supporting the mission back home, it takes a village to move meaningful work forward.

We’re grateful for everyone who helped make this week possible — and even more grateful for the people who continue walking alongside Fostering Hope wherever this mission leads next.

Local work. A growing voice. A village behind it all.

Want to help bring a little Christmas magic to Gingerbread Land?

Our Santa Sponsors help make one of the event’s most-loved experiences possible — giving families the chance to visit Santa, capture a photo, and make a holiday memory together.

And while you’re helping create a magical day for families, your sponsorship also supports the year-round mission of Fostering Hope and our work with children across Oklahoma.

Santa Sponsorships are now available. Visit our website to become a sponsor.

Last spring, Senator James Lankford stopped by Fostering Hope during a visit to Muskogee. That visit led to something we never could have expected: a nomination for the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s Angels in Adoption Award.

And this past week, Annie Czaruk & Family, traveled to Washington, D.C. to officially receive that recognition on behalf of Fostering Hope.

To see work that began right here in our corner of Oklahoma recognized alongside organizations from across the country is incredibly special.

But this honor belongs to more than one person or one organization. It represents every volunteer, donor, foster family, DHS worker, community partner, and supporter who has helped Fostering Hope show up for children for more than a decade.

We’re incredibly proud of Annie, grateful to Senator Lankford for the nomination, and humbled to see how far this mission continues to reach.

From one child at a time to Capitol Hill, hope keeps growing.

A little fall fun at Fostering Hope. 🎃

During the recent Muskogee and McIntosh all-staff gathering, teams got creative with a pumpkin decorating contest — and the results did not disappoint.

We’re grateful for moments like these that give everyone a chance to connect, laugh, and enjoy a little friendly competition together.

A big thank you to Jonnie & Reo’s Mama Tigs Wood-Fired Pizza for sponsoring the food and helping make the event even more enjoyable for everyone.

Fall fun, good food, and a whole lot of creativity — we’ll take it.

A big thank you to Phan Nguyen of and Oklahoma DHS for spending time with our Teen Board and walking them through the ins and outs of the foster care system.

His willingness to share his experience, answer questions, and help our teens better understand what children, families, and professionals navigate brought so much depth to the conversation.

The more our Teen Board understands, the better equipped they are to serve with empathy, purpose, and perspective.

We’re incredibly grateful to Phan for the work he does and for taking the time to invest in the next generation of advocates.
