What an incredible year for our 5th Annual Shop With a Cop! The West Michigan Lake Hawks In Flight Foundation, Inc. would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this event possible.

A huge thank you to My Lakeshore Subaru for sponsoring and helping make Christmas brighter for 100 children this year—you made dreams come true. A special thank you as well to Walmart on Henry Street for hosting us once again and always going above and beyond to ensure the day runs smoothly.

We are so grateful for our amazing volunteers—including members of the Zeta sorority, all school volunteers, and the hardworking Catrice’s Catering crew—for their dedication and teamwork. Whether wrapping gifts, serving food, making candy bags, or keeping things clean and organized, your efforts made everything flow perfectly.

And of course, to our local heroes who joined in to shop with the children and bring so many smiles: Muskegon Heights Fire Dept, Sergeant Hull of Muskegon Heights Police Department, Michigan State Police, Muskegon Department of Corrections, Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office, and the Muskegon County Hazardous Materials Response Team—thank you for showing what community service truly looks like.

MORNING BLESSINGS
Big Dreams Require Genuine Prayer
First, we must know that [God] can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
God wants us to live our life to the fullest, with dreams and goals rooted in the knowledge of His power and love for us. He wants us to have great ambition and a growing faith.
God also wants us to have a genuine prayer life.
Here’s an example: In 1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez’s prayer life was the secret to accomplishing his dreams. He prayed, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain”. And then the verse continues, “God granted his request.”
Furthermore, we cannot out-ask or out-dream God? The Bible says, “[God] can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20 NIV). Therefore, go ahead and stretch your imagination to the greatest thing that could happen—and then realize God can go beyond that.
Key: Jabez knew this about God, so he prayed three things:
(1) Jabez prayed for God’s blessing in his life. He prayed, “Oh, that you would bless me!”
Some people say, you should not ask God to bless you, That’s selfish. But according to God, asking for blessing is absolutely fine. He wants to bless your life when you are walking faithfully with Him.
(2) Jabez prayed for God’s power in his life. He prayed, “Let your hand be with me.” He asked for God’s power. Jabez knew that if he got more land and a larger territory, he would have greater demands and more responsibilities. He knew he would need God’s help to manage it all.
(3) Jabez prayed for God’s protection over his life. He prayed, “Keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” Here, Jabez ask for God’s protection Because he knew that the more successful you are, the more critics you have.
The same thing is true in the Christian life: The closer you grow to the Lord, the stronger you become as a Christian, and the more the devil will hassle you. Therefore, we are going to need God’s protection.
Finally, whatever we want God to do in our life, ask Him! But first, we must get the motive behind our goals and dreams in alignment with God’s will. Then pray the three things as Jabez prayed: (1) God’s blessing, (2) power, and (3) protection. Then watch how God answers your prayers! Amen. HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!

MORNING BLESSINGS
Speak God’s Word to the Mountain
In Mark 11:23-24, it says, For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
In other words, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.
When Jesus said that we are to speak to the mountain, commanding it to be lifted and thrown into the sea, He was making a fundamental statement.
We, usually talk about the “mountains,” or challenges, in our lives, but God’s Word instructs us to speak to them. And when we do, we must respond to them with the Word of God.
Furthermore, in Luke 4, when Satan was trying to tempt Jesus in the wilderness, the Lord responded to every trial by speaking Scripture. He repeatedly quoted verses that met the lies and deceptions of the devil head-on. This is what we must do!
We tend to try this for a while, but when we don't see quick results, we stop speaking the Word to our problems and begin once again to speak our feelings.
However, Persistence is a vital link to obtaining victory.
Constantly speaking the Word is powerful and necessary in overcoming any problem or negative situation. Know what you believe and be determined to stick with it to the end.
I encourage you to say this prayer: Holy Spirit, remind me daily to speak the Word to the mountains in my life. Every time I give in to complaining or despair, fill me with Your peace and boldness and encourage me to speak Your will and move mountains! Amen! HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!

MORNING BLESSINGS!
Wise people ask questions and then listen. If you want to be wise, learn how to ask wise questions.
The Bible speaks about this in Proverbs 20:5, it says, People’s thoughts can be like a deep well, but someone with understanding can find the wisdom there. In other words, everybody has something to teach you. You may have to draw their wisdom out like water from a deep well, but it’s worth the time to do that.
The question is: How do we draw the wisdom out? The Answer: We learn to ask smart questions.
As I’ve traveled around the world, I’ve asked questions of truck drivers and complete strangers—and they all have taught me something. If you know the right questions to ask, you can learn from anybody! Yes, even that drunk person and the person that's addicted to drugs or the person that's homeless.
One thing I’ve realized is that I never learn anything while I’m talking. If my mouth is moving, I’m not learning. We don’t learn when we are talking either; we learn when we are listening. So we got to learn to listen.
While doing an interview, if the interviewer is talking 50 percent of the time, something is terribly wrong. The interviewer should listen the most and talk the least. A good interviewer sets up the question and then just listens.
Therefore, be encouraged and be more like the interviewer who has learned to listen. Be the person who believes you can learn from anyone.
Finally, we just have to be willing to ask good questions—and then listen. That’s the mark of a wise person. Amen! HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!

We are so thankful for every volunteer, supporter, and local partner who made Turning the Lake Pink and Night on the Lake possible for our youth this year. Your energy and kindness created real memories, and celebrating together at the brunch was such a joy.

Special thanks to those who joined us to share ideas—your creativity will help make next year’s events even better! We’re truly blessed by this community and can’t wait to build even more together.

The 3rd Annual Night on the Lake was an absolute blast! Laser tag, fishing, s’mores, and sports kept our young men busy and created memories that’ll last all year.
