The news is out! We've had the pleasure of curating "Darling, Just Trust the Process - The Art of Black Hair through Conversation and Installation," an exhibit and moderated panel discussion featuring the art of black hair through live installations. This exhibit will feature curated styles of black hair, showcasing the creativity, rich history, and evolution of the black hair experience.

We welcome you to join us to celebrate the black aesthetic, self-identity, and history of black stylists and salons who have championed the black hair community and businesses here in Muskegon County on Thursday, February 1st, from 6-8 PM at the Muskegon Museum of Art. We hope to see you all there, Darlings! ✨

Coming up in the month of February we are celebrating the history and artistry of black women's hair! Our production, The Glorious World of Crowns, Kinks, and Curls, is a collection of monologues and scenes exploring the complex relationship black women have with their hair.

Join us at the Muskegon Museum of Art on February 1st for an extraordinary evening celebrating the Art of Black Hair! This live installation has been curated by Above Ground Collective and will showcase the creativity, rich history, and evolution of black hair using local models and created by Muskegon stylists. At 7:00pm we will host a panel with our models and stylists to discuss their process and allow guests to ask questions.

The MMA is free all day on Thursdays!
