Muskegon Yacht Club Sailing School The Muskegon Junior Sailing Program provides multiple opportunities for young people to explore the sport of sailing.

THE MYC SAILING SCHOOL
The Muskegon Junior Sailing Program operates the MYC Sailing School out of the Muskegon Yacht Club on Muskegon Lake. This instructional program is open to the public and offers children ages 6 and older as well as adults the opportunity to learn to sail through a variety of sailing classes and lessons designed for both beginner and experienced sailors. Students at all levels

experience the thrill of sailing through a combination of classroom instruction, games, activities, and on-the-water experiences designed to develop sailing knowledge, boat handling, and safety skills. Classes are led by US Sailing Certified Instructors who are experienced sailors and also certified in CPR. The instructor-to-student ratios are kept small to maximize each student’s experience, so class size is limited. THE MYC JUNIOR RACING PROGRAM
The Muskegon Junior Sailing Program also operates the MYC Junior Racing Program. This program conducts local club races at Muskegon Yacht Club and the race team also travels to other regional WMYSA regattas throughout West Michigan. Other racing opportunities for junior sailors include the WMYA Westerns Regatta, the Butterfly Nationals and the US Sailing Junior Olympics. The program and its experienced coaches guide and supervise young sailors as they explore the world of competitive sailing.
