From Cliffy Franzen, KC0RFN:

"The Iowa Repeater Council is seeking assistance from the Iowa amateur radio community.

The Iowa Repeater Council Frequency Coordinator position is currently vacant, and we are actively working to fill this important role. The Frequency Coordinator helps support coordinated repeater operations across Iowa by administering repeater frequency coordination policies, helping minimize interference, and assisting repeater owners with coordination requests.

We recognize this may impact those with open or pending coordination requests, and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we work through this transition.

Per Iowa Repeater Council bylaws, the ideal candidate should:

· Have demonstrated administrative skills in some capacity

· Be able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form

· Be capable of acting impartially while administering Iowa Repeater Council frequency coordination policies

· Be a licensed Amateur Radio operator holding at least a Technician Class license for a minimum of five (5) years

Because the Frequency Coordinator also serves on the Iowa Repeater Council Board, this creates an open Board position as well. The Council plans to hold an election during the Iowa Repeater Council forum at the Cedar Valley Amateur Radio Club Hamfest on August 8. The individual elected will complete the remainder of the current term through 2029.

If you, or someone you know, may be interested in serving as the next Iowa Repeater Council Frequency Coordinator and Board member, please contact the Board mailto: [email protected]

This role is important to the amateur radio community across Iowa, and we are committed to finding someone who shares a dedication to fair, impartial coordination and service to the hobby.

Please share this post with Iowa amateur radio operators, clubs, and others who may have an interest in supporting repeater coordination in the state.

Thank you for your patience, support, and continued involvement in Iowa amateur radio.

73,

Calvin Jutting, KNØCTJ

Jason Skretta, KCØEDE

Angie Paytes, KDØRRW

Clair Franzen, KCØRFN
