The new Deep Lakes Disc Golf Course is signed and ready for golfers! It is a beautiful course with great views of the lakes. The course is about 2-miles of walking on loose sand with some steep terrain! We think you’ll love the challenge! Have fun! It’s listed on the UDisc app.

Effective today, October 1st. Saulsbury Campground is closed due to flooding again. Hopefully by next Wednesday, October 7th, at the earliest we should be able to open back up. Weather permitting! 🤞💦☀️⛺️

Saulsbury Bridge Recreation Area is flooding! Campgrounds & shelters are closed. We are hoping to open back up by Thursday or Friday!

Partnerships make it happen and we are thankful for MPW’s help!! I really enjoyed watching this professional, knowledgeable, and efficient crew get the job done! They installed two poles with Osprey nest platforms on them and one that will hold a MOTUS antenna for tracking tagged birds, bats, and insects during migration. Also a huge thanks to REC for donating the poles and to our very on talented maintenance crew for building the nest platforms! Today an osprey flew over several times inspecting their work!! I think he was pleased and hoping to start a nest there in the spring!!

A couple of big projects came together this morning with the help of Muscatine Power and Water and Eastern Iowa REC. Today we will focus on Deep Lakes Park. One of two Osprey Nesting Platforms was placed! We are excited to see what happens this spring. Another platform will be placed next week in a different area of the park. We have seen Osprey fishing in the park since we acquired it and hope these platforms will attract a family.
