Iowa has 113,203 students in Title I programs. Title 1 provides extra financial support to schools with a high percentage of students from low-income families.
A lot of these students attend rural schools in counties like Decatur, Appanoose, and Crawford. They get some of the $110 million in federal funding that goes to Iowa schools through the US Department of Education.
