Deputy Labor Minister Donates Zinc to Storm Victim in Ganta

A humanitarian gesture was extended today June 1, 2026 to a storm-affected resident of Ganta when a bundle of 32-gauge zinc sheets was presented to support urgent home repairs.
The donation was made on behalf of Hon. P. Othello Mansuo, Jr., Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Labor, and formally handed over to Mother Victoria Gungrain in Ganta.
According to Mother Gongrain, her house sustained partial roof damage during a recent storm, leaving her vulnerable to further weather-related risks. The donated zinc will be used to repair the damaged section of the roof and restore safety to the home.
The intervention followed an appeal from Mother Gungrain, who lacked the immediate means to repair her roof and sought assistance from the Deputy Minister upon his to the community at the weekend. Upon learning of her situation, Hon. Mansuo, Jr. promptly intervened to provide support by presenting the one bundle today at her resident.
Speaking on behalf of the Deputy Minister, David M. Tahn emphasized Hon. Mansuo, Jr.’s commitment to standing with citizens in times of need, noting that timely assistance can make a meaningful difference for families affected by natural disasters as such.
Tahn further noted that Hon. Mansuo, Jr. remains commited to helping address the needs of his people across Nimba County.
Mother Gongrain expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support, describing the donation as a lifeline that will help protect her household from future rainfall.
Community members who witnessed the presentation commended the gesture, describing it as a reflection of responsive leadership and compassion toward ordinary citizens affected by unforeseen circumstances.
