The Suspended exhibit from the African American Museum of Iowa will be at Muscatine Community College library till September 24. The MCC library is open 7:30-5:30 M-Th, and 7:30-4 on Friday.

The Jefferson Elementary 6th grade students invite you to our portrait gallery next Thursday, May 25th, at Central Middle School's gym. Our event will be open to Jefferson classes from 11-12 (time may change based on a potential assembly) and to the public from 1:30-2:30.

As part of a social studies unit, Jefferson 6th grade students have been answering the question "How do we become who we are?" We have interviewed people from Ireland, Indonesia, Portugal, Denmark, Austria, Romania, Mexico, Philippines, Canada, and the Ojibwe and Menominee tribes in the United States. Through a collaboration with their art teacher, Ms. Stansberry, the students are turning their learning into portraits representing the person and their culture that will be displayed at this event.
