Hi fellow Civitans The Macy Passes are going well Kathy and I sold our 11th pass yesterday, They are easy to sell.Just carry them with you and when you meet peuple it gives you a chance to talk about Civitan.Our next meeting is August 12th ,try to have all the money collected by then .HAPPY SELLING IF YOU NEED EXTRA PASSES CONTACT GREG SOMMER.

For those of us in attendance last night, Pattie Roberts from "Save The Animals Today" gave us a very energetic and passionate presentation on her cause to save the animals. Housing 49 rescue horses, assorted cows, steers, and a pig named "Ernie" who thinks he's a dog, Pattie spoke on the behalf of her foundation. She was a former marketing director and KFROG personality (Lilly Pad), and has won numerous awards for her volunteer work and as a non-profit organization. We were entertained and thanks go to Pierre and Kathy Turgeon for getting her to speak for us..................On some business notes!

1) Pierre passed out the "Macy's Shop for a Cause" tickets for us to sell and distribute. They are only $5.00 and each member is responsible for selling 10 of them.

2) There are no scheduled meetings in July. It has been customary to not meet in July, but I will keep you informed by e-mail or phone if something important comes along.


That's about it for now!......Have a safe and fun summer, and our next scheduled meeting will be held: Monday, August 12th: La Bella Vita Restaurant!

WHAT IS A CIVITAN MEEETING?

Please join us at one of our meetings. We meet twice a month, on the 2nd & 4th Monday.

We meet at La Bella Vita Restaurant located at 39738 Wi******er Rd, Temecula. This is a beautiful Italian restaurant. There is no charge for potential members to attend the meeting. If you choose to dine at La Bella Vita, they have an excellent menu with reasonable prices (entrée in the lower teens). Food is on your own. There is no obligation to order food.

I highly recommend attending our speakers meetings where we usually have a representative from a local non-profit speak about their organization. These are always fascinating presentations discussing the problem they are trying to address and how they go about providing help. These presentations provide fascinating insight into our community. You won’t be disappointed.

WHAT IS CIVITAN?

Civitan is a Non Profit organization dedicated to serving community needs with an emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities. The mission is to volunteer our time and raise funds for charitable causes. All donations go directly to local organizations of our choice.

Meetings are held only twice a month (are not mandatory) and dues are only $25 per quarter. Civitan has a long charitable history and established international structure. The $25 per quarter goes to raise our international organization & it’s primary charity, a medical facility. ALL FUNDRAISING BY OUR TEMECULA VALLEY CIVITAN CLUB GOES TO FUND LOCAL CHARITY ORGANIZATIONS OF OUR CHOICE!

Civitan will be at the Temecula Valley Museum’s Biannual Bazaar to be held Today, Saturday, June 15th in Sam Hicks Monument Park, Old Town Temecula. The bazaar will run from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. The event is sponsored by the museum’s Board of Directors in cooperation with members of the Temecula Valley Women’s Club.

We have moved our meeting location! We are not at the La Bella Vita, Wi******er Rd., Temecula. Our next meeting will be on June 24 where we will have a speaker. Don't miss it!

Fellow Civitans!
Thank you for the great turnout we had for guest speaker, Michael Vonderheid. Artists with Autism exhibit some extraordinary art work! He truly enjoyed our group and we look forward to meeting up with him again.
Two things!
1) Marilu Schmier will speak this Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 at City Hall Room "A" and has invited us all there for support.
2) Our next meeting, I forgot to mention, is May 13th.
