🎗️ THIS is the ugly truth about childhood cancer. 🎗️
These are the moments people don’t always see.
Childhood cancer isn’t just bald heads and brave smiles. It’s sickness. It’s exhaustion. It’s long days and even longer nights. It’s a child needing help with things they once did on their own. It’s parents watching their child go through treatments that no child should ever have to endure.
It’s trying to make a hospital room feel like home. It’s celebrating the good days while being terrified of what the next scan, test, or appointment may bring.
Behind every gold ribbon is a real child and a real family whose entire world has been changed by cancer.
These pictures are hard for me to look at, but this was part of our reality. This was part of CJ’s story. And it is still the reality for far too many children and families today.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, but for families affected by childhood cancer, awareness doesn’t end when September does.
This is why we GO GOLD. 💛
This is why we share their stories.
This is why we advocate.
This is why CJ’s Smile continues to stand beside children and families facing the unimaginable.
Because childhood cancer is not rare when it’s your child. 🎗️💛
