DR Horton has been clearing land on McDowell shortcut for Townhomes. The concern is the distance to Collins Creek which is a major drainage for Burgess. Time to ask Horry County storm water the plan to keep runoff from entering Collins Creek.

This project will be presented at the May 7th planniyand zoning meeting

The new Freewoods/Bay road project. The owner has scaled back from 149 homes to 117 with larger lots, 35 foot buffers and an improved stormwater management. The project will come before the Planning and Zoning Commission Thursday February 5th at 5:30 at the Horry County Government building in Conway. Let the GBCA know your opinion [email protected]

Let's all change our Social media profiles to reflect that you live in BURGESS, not Myrtle Beach or Murrells Inlet, those are only your mailing address. Burgess is the largest unincorporated Community in Horry County, and no one knows where it is!

In our last meeting with HOA Board members many topics were discussed. Major issues in the Burgess Community are over-development and traffic as well as the new SC22 extension.

We spoke about Bill 4050 in the House and 227 in the Senate. This Bill will allow local Communities to delay Building permits on large projects until the infrastructure (Roads, Schools, etc) has the time to catch up. BUT THESE BILLS ARE STUCK IN COMMITTEE and we need everyone to contact your local representative listed below and tell them to get it to a floor vote this year! The legislative session only lasts another 3-4 weeks so this is urgent you do it NOW!
