Police Officer Shane Seiber was shot and killed while responding to a disturbance call in West Philadelphia, near the 100 block of North 52nd Street at approximately 1:00 am.

Shortly after midnight, officers were called and dispatched to a complaint of a person wielding a gun from a residential porch. Upon arriving at the home, the suspect fired at the officers as they stepped onto the porch. Officer Seiber and a fellow officer were struck multiple times before the suspect fled down a nearby alley. The officers were transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where Officer Seiber succumbed to his wounds.

The suspect was apprehended after a search and neighborhood lockdown; charges are pending.

Officer Seiber had served with the Philadelphia Police Department for 10 years. Survivors include his wife and two children.

Trooper Hayden Phillips was shot and killed on I-65 in Warren County.

Around 2:00 p.m., Trooper Phillips was shot after conducting a traffic stop of a vehicle near mile marker 38.

The subject, who had a warrant for his arrest and was on probation, fled but was apprehended several hours later in Louisville and charged with the murder of a first responder.

Trooper Phillips had served with the Kentucky State Police for three years and was assigned to Post 3 in Bowling Green. Survivors include his wife and three sons.

Deputy Sheriff Terrian Bailey was shot and killed while responding to a disturbance call near a local convenience store off Highway 18, near Hermanville, shortly after midnight.

Deputy Bailey was working to disperse a crowd that had gathered after a festival when shots were fired. He and a civilian bystander were struck. Both Deputy Bailey and the civilian were taken to a nearby hospital.

Deputy Bailey succumbed to his wounds later that morning.

The shooting is still under investigation, and the suspect is still at large.

Deputy Bailey had served with the Claiborne County Sheriff's Department for six years. Survivors include his wife and four children.

It is with great sadness that I inform you that retired Detective Denis Broderick died overnight as the result of a motorcycle accident in Murrells Inlet. Denis retired from the Queens Homicide Squad. Anyone who knew him knows he always had a smile on his face. Dennis was a great detective and person keep his family in your thoughts and prayers !! RIP brother !!

Police Officer Austin Abdelnabi was shot and killed responding to a call regarding an armed subject at the 4500 block of East Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas.

Before 4:00 p.m., Officer Abdelnabi and other officers went to investigate reports of an armed intoxicated man at a local business. When they arrived at the location, they were met with gunfire, and shots were exchanged.

Officer Abdelnabi was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

The suspect died at the scene.

Officer Abdelnabi was a United States Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for over two years.
