Someone asked me about medication today… Concerning cats with FIV.
I wanted to share a few more facts—As I share sweet Sophie with you all again.
A huge percentage of cats with FIV live long and happy lives with NO daily medication at all. They just need regular vet check ups & good preventative care—as do all of our fur babies!
Most FIV positive cats are just as playful, affectionate and healthy as FIV negative cats… You would never even know the difference being around them.
Let’s keep sharing this sweet beauty… The perfect home for her is out there waiting!

Let’s talk about little Sophie. 🩷
She is a tiny mama (a bit under 7 pounds) who had a litter of nine babies. Her babies were very sick and four of them passed away… And I now have Sophie and the remaining five. Her five babies are doing great, and eating on their own… So Sophie was spayed today. During her time at the vet, we found out she is FIV positive. Sure— it wasn’t what I wanted to hear. But FIV is NOT something that should keep this beautiful girl from getting adopted into a loving home.
Here are a few facts about FIV:
 * FIV-positive cats can live long, happy lives with good care and regular vet checkups.
* FIV is NOT contagious to people or dogs.
* FIV is actually difficult to spread between cats. It is primarily transmitted through deep bite wounds, so many FIV-positive cats live peacefully with FIV-negative cats without spreading the virus.
* An FIV diagnosis doesn’t mean a cat is sick. Many FIV-positive cats are healthy, playful, affectionate, and show no symptoms at all.
BOTTOM LINE—
FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy, happy lives. They can’t give FIV to people or dogs, and many live peacefully with other cats. They don’t need special superpowers—just a loving home. 💕
💕💕💕This sweet girl isn’t looking for someone to save her. She’s looking for someone to LOVE her.
