🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from USEA!

Today we celebrate the social and economic achievements of workers and recognize the labor movement that helped secure a stronger voice for employees across America. Labor Day was established to honor the contributions workers make to our nation’s strength, prosperity, and wellbeing.

We are especially grateful for Utah’s Education Support Professionals, whose dedication helps students succeed every single day.

📅 1 Day Until Labor Day

As we prepare to celebrate Labor Day, we honor generations of workers who came together to improve working conditions and create a stronger future for those who followed.

Many workplace standards we value today were achieved because workers organized, advocated, and stood in solidarity with one another.

Tomorrow, we celebrate the contributions of all of Utah’s Education Support Professionals who work every day to support students, schools, and communities.

📅 2 Days Until Labor Day

Labor Day exists because workers organized and spoke with a collective voice.

In the late 1800s, labor organizations pushed for fair treatment, safer workspaces, and recognition of workers’ contributions to America’s prosperity. Their efforts helped establish Labor Day as a national holiday honoring working people.

Today, unions continue to give employees a voice in the workplace and advocate for respect, fairness, and opportunity.

That’s a legacy worth celebrating.

📆 3 Days Until Labor Day

Did you know? The first Labor Day celebration was held on September 5, 1882, in New York City, where thousands of workers marched to recognize the contributions of working people. The movement grew across the country and became a federal holiday in 1894.

More than a day off, Labor Day is a celebration of the workers who build, serve, teach, support, and strengthen our communities every day.

At USEA, we’re proud to continue the tradition of standing up for Utah’s Education Support Professionals and the students they serve.
