I hope you all are having a great summer! I just wanted to post and let everyone know that Wings of Hope is still on a mission. Brent and I just finished Foster/Adoptive Care Training and it just strengthened my desire to help the children coming into care. Kentucky has approximately 10,000 kids in the foster system. We have in the past took around 60 filled backpacks to the DCBS here in Calloway County. We are now branching out a little to help another ministry group here called "The Moses Basket". They have had this up and running in Marshall County but just have gotten started in Calloway County. They do what we do only on a bigger scale (meaning they provide clothes and other needs also). They depend on donations also. I feel it is a great way for us to make sure these children are getting the things they need to make the transition into care a little less stressful. So...we need you! WHY DOES THIS MISSION MATTER?

In just over two months we have been able to take 69 backpacks full of supplies to DCS that will one day be placed in the hands of children coming into the foster care system.

Why does it matter?

Imagine being taken out of the only environment you have ever known. We know that the reasons are good and valid, but the situation would still be scary for any child. On top of this imagine that you have nothing but the clothing you have on. Nothing of your own to speak of. Wings of Hope simply works to give these children something they can call their own. A little something of comfort in the midst of fear and confusion.
