NGPA at SIU Carbondale

The NGPA-SIU will enhance the mission of SIU by generally promoting diversity/inclusion on campus.

The Southern Illinois University (“SIU”) chapter of the National Gay Pilots Association (“NGPA”) serves as a safe environment for pilots and aviation enthusiasts of the Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (“LGBT”) community and its allies. In addition, this chapter will also promote safety and professionalism in the aviation community. The NGPA-SIU will also enhance the mission of SIU by generally promoting diversity and inclusion on campus.

The dawgs had an amazing time at NGPA’s Winter Warm-Up conference! Our chapter had a great time socializing and networking with both old and new friends. We are very grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait for more to come!✈️☀️🌄🕶️

Over this past weekend, some of our E-board members attended the NGPA Student Summit in DC! They all had a great time at the conference, meeting other NGPA chapters, some alumni, as well as some sightseeing!

This Wednesday! Thank you grams available for purchase in the hallway by FLOPs/front desk. $5 each. We can deliver to a member of faculty, or you can hand them out yourself, or give them to a friend as well!

If you are looking for a cozy movie night to watch the classics, look no further. We are so excited to be able to show the classic fall Charlie Brown movies. We will be accepting cash or card (cash preferred) at the door starting at 5:45. We will be in the TEC multipurpose room. If you have any questions or need extra information, don’t hesitate to reach out!

BBQ SOCIAL!
A huge thank you to everyone who was able to come out and support last night! It was an amazing turnout and we loved seeing everyone there! We hope to plan and be apart of more events and opportunities like this in the future.
It was a great time and a great experience being able to work with other RSOs! HUGE shoutout to WIA and ARA for working with us and getting everything set up!

Join us next Wednesday for the Aviator BBQ Social cohosted by SIU NGPA, ARA, and WAI. We’ll have free 17th Street barbecue, fun games, as well as welcome presentations from the hosting RSO’s.

If you’re interested in getting to know a little bit more about NGPA, ARA, and WAI or just want to chill out and have a good time will fellow SIU aviators, please RSVP and join us October 1st at 6:00p in the AvTech hangar!
