Venturing Crew 7004

Venturing is part of BSA and is a youth led, co-ed program for youth ages 14-20 who want higher adventure.

Crew 7004 is located in Murphysboro, IL and serves youth in the surrounding communities.

Day 4...we said "See ya later" to Alayna today since she returned to work at Camp Famous Eagle; S-F Scout Ranch but before she left us, we had a few more adventures.

Day 3 was a bit more.....something but overall it was still a great day at Swift High Adventure Base. After a wonderful breakfast, the Venturers went back to the range for a little archery and instruction. After lunch, the Venturers completed the Time Management & Goal Setting training. After a few rounds of Extreme Tic Tac Toe (ask Dane) we made our excursion to town. A little Goodwill, Walmart and El Tapatio before more exploring near S-F. The Venturers climbed the Glen Skinner Memorial Lookout Tower before returning to camp for a couple rounds of Yahtzee. The local wildlife did not disappoint today either. (Alayna probably does not agree). Stay tuned for more antics tomorrow...

Where else can you make your own adventure during summer camp but at Swift High Adventure Base? Day 2 had our Venturers joining the Rangemaster for rifle shooting with our fearless leader, Dane Grammer setting a new camp record in a game of Horse. The afternoon had our Venturers trying their hand at water skiing. Someone figured out she can do the splits....in the water. After dinner we took a trek to Castle Rock for some sky gazing. It sure was beautiful!!! See what your missing...

Oh I forgot to mention we worked for our meals since it was our day as service crew.

Some of the crew spent the weekend in St. Louis with a visit to the Fine Arts Museum and Science center on Saturday and the St. Louis City Museum on Sunday. We cabin camped at Warren Levis over night.

What does your Crew for New Year's Day? Ours held elections for 2026, confirmed attendance on our Winter outing and then spent the afternoon playing games. Definitely a great way to start the new year!

Any youth aged 14-20 is eligible to join the Crew. Come join the adventure!!!
