What a Night! 🍕✨

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to our Volunteer Appreciation & Opportunity Pizza Party. Sharing a slice and connecting over the heart behind SHP was the perfect way to spend an evening 🥰

Hearing stories from our coaches, and even a D7 school teacher who stopped in “just to say thank you for everything you guys have done” was a powerful reminder of why this mission matters. 🤍

We were also honored to celebrate Sandra Engle, our 2025 Chapter Champion.
Her steady support, warm smile, and the quilts she pours her heart into have touched so many families. Recognizing her was a highlight of the night.

If you missed this one, no worries - more opportunities are coming!!
Event details and upcoming build info will be shared soon. Please message us directly if you would like to learn more about ways you can help us continue providing beds to children in need.

Together, we keep building. Together, we make sure no kid sleeps on the floor in our town!

Another amazing day of giving sweet dreams to kiddos on Saturday 🥰 We had 2 teams and a great group of volunteers to make the magic happen. 13 new beds in total got set up and ready for many good night sleeps ahead. We also took 2 single beds we delivered previously and made them into top bunks. A bunk gives 2 children a place to sleep and takes up the same amount of floor space as a single.

If you want to be a part of the magic, please reach out.

Also, save the date for our next build day!
Saturday May 16 at the Fairgrounds

We'll have a sign up with more details soon!

We have some catching up to do on our Facebook posts!
Our volunteers were busy little delivery elves in the month of December and fulfilled all of our open bed requests before the end of the year 🥰 We had a delivery day in January, but still are back up to 18 requests for beds at the moment.

Because of the generosity and selflessness of our friends and neighbors, we were able to surpass our goals again in 2025 by getting 169 more children off the floor and into beds of their own. Our gracious community is what makes the SHP program successful. Every person who volunteered their time, contributed with in kind or monetary donations, and all of our sponsors are what made 2025 another great year of building and delivering beds.

Thank you to everyone who gave in any way they could to help us help children in need. When you see all the happy kiddos we were able to help, you know your efforts are very much appreciated 🥰 Thank you to all the parents and people who referred others to SHP so we could provide beds for their children. And thank you to all of our community partners below for your continued support! We're looking forward to another great year in 2026!

We're in the last week of the year end bedding drive Evergeen is hosting to help us replenish our supply. Every new bed we deliver comes with brand new bedding, including sheets, blankets, pillows, and often, a hand made throw or quilt.

If you would like to help provide new bedding to children in need, Evergreen has been gracious to offer both the main office at 969 SE 6th st and their north Grants Pass branch at 1329 NE 6th st as drop off locations.

Want to help from the comfort of your couch? We got you! Please use our Amazon wishlist to have items shipped directly to the bank:

https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3BC2NZ30N7W95

Also! Evergreen is donating $500 worth of bedding, and they featured SHP as the theme of the Rogue Winterfest tree they sponsored! The Bear Hotel team made it look so beautiful!

Thank you to Evergreen for continued support of the SHP program 🥰 Amazing in our community like this is what makes it possible for us to provide beds to children who are sleeping in undesirable conditions.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP)

A nonprofit, international organization that gives beds to children who have none. Our chapter provides beds to children in Josephine County & Glendale, Oregon.

Our criteria:
·- Children must be ages 3-17 years.
·- Children must have a home or residence to place the bed in -- a house, apartment, mobile home, travel trailer, yurt, or other residence with a permanent roof over their heads.
·- Children who do not currently have a real bed of their own -- sleeping on the floor, on a couch, with siblings or parents, or on a mattress directly on the floor.
·- We do not ask for any financial information.

The process:
·- To apply for a bed go to SHPBeds.org/apply
·- Our staff will contact you to discuss the need and prepare for a delivery. We must be able to speak with a parent or legal guardian on the phone before planning to deliver a bed.
·- Parents will be asked to fill out an online ‘Release Form’ before a bed(s) will be delivered.

Our beds:
·- We will (thanks to our generous donors) give qualifying children a single bed or a bunk (for 2 children). We can provide whatever combination of beds the parents request – one bed per child.
·- Beds include a solid wood frame, a comfortable mattress, sheets, and a comforter or quilt – all they need to get a good night's sleep that very night. All bedding and bed parts are brand new and at no cost to the family.
·- Single beds: 42”Wx81”Lx28”H; bunk beds: 42”Wx81”Lx56”H

What an amazing day it was yesterday! About 100 volunteers came together to build new beds for kiddos who don't have a bed to sleep in. It's always a beautiful experience to see stacks of lumber magically turn into rustic bed frames because of the hard work of volunteers 💪 By the end of the build day, 52 more beds were built, which will soon be in the homes of children in need.

Thank you to AllCare and their Community Advisory Council for sponsoring the whole build day, which covers all the associated costs of providing complete beds to children. Thank you to Evergreen Federal Bank for hosting the event at the Bear Hotel and providing space for volunteers to have a catered lunch. Thank you Casa Amiga for serving us a great lunch. Thank you to Fields Home Center for bringing us great lumber to bulld from.

Yesterday was a wonderful culmination of seeing our community unite together to see that No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town!

Thank you Casa Amiga for helping us find more volunteers for our upcoming build day!
