What a beautiful day for a picnic! If you missed it, here are some pics. There was great food, a great crowd and a side of Bocce ball. Also, Loren Leith, our NC State Finals Bronze medal winner in the Literary Arts category 'Life Experience' read her piece - 'Visiting Win'.

Someone is having the time of his life!
Bart Harrison competed at NC State Finals this week in Co****le and Bocce Ball. Unfortunately, he did not get past the 2nd round in Co****le event losing out to the eventual Gold medal winner.
But Bocce Ball was a different story. With 17 men in his age group, Bart marched right through to the Gold medal game before finally coming away with the SILVER medal!
Congratulations Bart! As he always says (win or lose), "I AM BLESSED". What a great representative for Cherokee/Clay!

Jerry Leslie competed in the State Finals Table Tennis tournament yesterday picking up the Bronze medal. He nearly pulled out a couple of games against the eventual gold medalist but just couldn't quite finish it off.
We're proud of you Jerry, congratulations!
