Updated Milk Donor Guideline Announcement 📢

If you use the pitcher method to collect and store your milk, we have an important labeling update to share. Going forward, all individual breast milk storage bags should be labeled with the entire collection date range.

Please see the graphics for a comprehensive list of Dos and Don’ts that include the new labeling guidelines. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us uphold the highest standards of care.

"My baby was in the NICU for 3 weeks. It was the hardest time of my life for many reasons. My baby is unable to breastfeed, so I was devastated about that since I breastfed my other children. I love breastfeeding my babies, so I was really sad that I just had to pump. I started changing my mindset and focusing on not what I couldn’t do but what I COULD do for my baby. I started pumping very frequently in the NICU while staying with her. I am blessed that my supply is large so that I can share my milk with other NICU babies that need it!" - Brianna

Today was an especially meaningful milestone for Mothers’ Milk Bank Southeast as we celebrated the opening of our 30th Milk Drop Depot and our first depot in Georgia at AdventHealth Gordon. This depot opening represents greater access, greater awareness, and more opportunities for mothers to give the gift of donor milk to fragile babies in need.

“Most donor moms donate breastmilk to feed babies they will never get to meet. However, I have the privilege of meeting the babies I could potentially be feeding as their NICU nurse.

Just yesterday, every time I went to the fridge to get milk for the two babies I was caring for, it was donor milk. Maybe it was my milk. Maybe it was another mamas milk. Whoever’s milk it was, it was made with love!

NICU babies across the world receive donor milk and get to go home with their parents because another mom selflessly donated her extra milk to help nourish them. May we honor every mom who has donated to a baby she hasn’t met before- or if she’s lucky enough, to a baby she has met before.” -Bree 💜💜💜

We are proud to announce that Mothers' Milk Bank of Tennessee is now Mothers' Milk Bank Southeast.

As we continue expanding access to lifesaving donor milk across the Southeast, our new name represents our growth, our reach, and our continued commitment to improving health outcomes for vulnerable infants and families throughout the region.
