✨ Looking for a meaningful way to give back?

On Saturday, July 18, Fostering with Kinks & Curls will be in Gallatin, TN, serving foster, adoptive, and kinship families—and we need compassionate volunteers to help make this workshop unforgettable.

You don’t have to be a hairstylist to make a difference.

Whether you’re helping detangle hair, greeting families, serving snacks, assisting at the activity table, or simply offering a smile, your presence helps a child feel seen, loved, and confident.

We’re looking for:
💚 Licensed & non-licensed hair helpers
💚 Moms & caregivers
💚 Activity table helpers
💚 Welcome team
💚 Snacks & drinks team
💚 Floaters

A village is someone who shows up for you without always being asked. Someone who wants to make your life easier, not harder. A village is love, support, encouragement, honesty, and consistency.

And Brea is just that — she is someone’s village. I was so inspired by her willingness to say, “If the adoptive parents can’t do textured hair, then I’m going to learn so I can help.” That speaks volumes about the kind of heart she has.

Because being a village isn’t always about money or grand gestures. Sometimes it’s simply taking the time to learn, to care, and to make sure a child feels loved, confident, and seen. And that’s exactly what she’s doing.

FWKC was created to make textured hair care easier, less overwhelming, and more supported for foster, adoptive, and kinship families—but we need you to meet us halfway.

We can keep creating free workshops, safe spaces, and hands-on support… but only if families show up, enroll, and use the help that’s here for you.

This is a judgment-free space. No shame. No pressure. No one expects you to know it all. That’s exactly why we’re here.

We’re here to help you learn, ask questions, get support, and feel more confident caring for your child’s hair.

FWKC is here to give you hands-on support, real guidance, and a safe space to learn, ask questions, and grow your confidence. You do not have to figure it out alone—we’re here to walk with you every step of the way.

Hey y’all 💚

FWKC has been a little quiet these past couple months — not gone, just taking a moment to reset and refocus.

Now we’re stepping back in and preparing for our upcoming workshops… and we’re excited about what’s ahead 💛

But we also want to be real with our community —
To keep doing this work, we need support.

Right now, our biggest need is funding to continue providing workshops, supplies, and resources for the families we serve. Our next location will be in Gallatin, Tennessee, and we will have the dates posted soon.
