The community is invited to celebrate the retirement of Jody Powers, founder of Liberty’s Station and Amelia's Closet, and honor her years of service and dedication to empowering individuals and families throughout Rutherford County. A retirement celebration recognizing Powers’ impact and legacy will take place on June 2nd from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Liberty's Station. (850 NW Broad St. ,Murfreesboro, TN 37129 )Through her vision and leadership, Powers founded Liberty’s Station and Amelia’s Closet to create opportunities, provide support, and serve individuals with dignity and purpose. Her passion for helping others has left a lasting mark on the Murfreesboro community and inspired countless volunteers, supporters, staff members, and families along the way. Liberty’s Station was founded to provide job training and meaningful employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, while Amelia’s Closet has supported women through clothing resources and encouragement during times of transition.
The retirement celebration will provide an opportunity for friends, community members, supporters, and partners to gather, share memories, and thank Powers for her years of leadership and service. The event will be held as a come-and-go celebration, allowing guests to stop by at any time during the event hours.
