The Shai Fund operates exclusively for charitable, humanitarian, relief and development purposes to accomplish the following:

In the wake of the October 7, 2023 devastations, communities along the Gaza envelope were left facing immense loss, uncertainty, and displacement. In response, Shai Fund launched a recovery initiative focused on restoring essential infrastructure and helping families begin again. ⚒️

Just a few months later, the impact in Kibbutz Nahal Oz and Moshav Shuva is already deeply felt. Children are once again filling repaired classrooms with laughter, learning, and hope, where they are now able to grow in safe and supportive environments. Families are returning to restored homes that offer not only shelter, but a renewed sense of stability after months of upheaval.

At the same time, local teams continue rehabilitating volunteer housing, ensuring long-term recovery efforts can continue through skilled support, compassion, and community presence. 🙏💙

In Iraq’s Nineveh Plains, Martin returned to a community shaped by loss and limited opportunity. But instead of focusing on what was missing, he saw what could be rebuilt.

Shelter is not something you think about until it is gone. 💔

When families fled nearby attacks in Sweida, they had nothing and nowhere to go. A church activity hall that was never meant for living quickly became their only refuge.

So the Shai Fund team got to work. ⚒️🧰

With the help of our partners and our supportive community, the space was transformed. Heating units were installed, fuel was provided each month, and winter clothing and footwear was distributed. We made essential upgrades to the kitchen, energy, and hygiene systems at the same time. 💙

Because this is more than a building. It is a home. 🏠

In the middle of a harsh winter, this support meant warmth, safety, and protection for displaced minorities and their families. It meant stability and hope in the midst of chaos. It gave them a place to belong.

Before the 2023 earthquake in Turkey, Emir’s* holistic wellness space was more than a business. It was a place of restoration where people came to heal mentally and physically and begin again.

In a matter of moments, everything changed. The earthquake not only took the business but also their family’s residence. What was once built with patience and care was now reduced to rubble. Stability no longer felt stable. 💔

But resilience has a way of rising in the aftermath. In the darkest moments, light still shines.

Emir knew the business would never return to what it once was, but he had faith. With the help of a Shai Fund business grant, Emir and his family chose to move forward again. 🤍

They chose to rebuild something new rather than recreate the past. Something shaped by strength and hope.

Darfur remains one of the most unstable regions in Sudan, with ongoing conflict, displacement, and severe economic collapse. Religious minority communities face discrimination, exclusion from aid networks, and targeted pressure because of their faith.

Shai Fund’s business grant has supported the establishment of ten businesses that will support local markets. The businesses are spread throughout nine communities including IDP camps and rural areas. 💛📈

Supporting the economic stability of various families through livelihoods allows them to:
🔹Provide for their own households.
🔹Continue leading the community.
🔹Create additional employment opportunities for locals.
🔹Strengthen their faith amidst the chaos.

The businesses selected require minimal technical training, operate with low overhead costs, and generate daily income in volatile market conditions.

In a place where the assurance of tomorrow is questionable, this project restores more than just security. It ensures economic stability and strengthens the community’s faith. 🙏
