As we continue our journey to Boulé 2026, Tremendous Tennessee proudly celebrates the women whose leadership and service create lasting change in their professions and communities.

Today, we honor Soror Umieca Hankton of the Sigma Chi Zeta Chapter as one of our Tremendous Tennessee Unsung Sheros.

A board-certified clinical psychologist at the VA, Dr. Hankton is deeply committed to providing compassionate, high-quality mental health care to our nation's veterans. Beyond her clinical work, she is a passionate advocate for mental wellness, leading workshops and creating safe spaces that help individuals build resilience and prioritize their well-being.

Her impact extends beyond the workplace through her service on nonprofit boards and her dedication to education, advocacy, and community outreach. Through her leadership and unwavering commitment to helping others, Dr. Hankton continues to break down barriers surrounding mental health and inspire those around her.

With more than 20 years of experience in medical research, Soror Jones serves as the Regulatory Review Administrator for IACUC and IBC at Meharry Medical College, helping ensure excellence in research and scientific integrity.

Beyond her professional achievements, she is a mentor, author, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and founder of Her Name Is Ministry, dedicated to empowering others to lead with confidence and purpose.
