It was a real cooker out there this morning but the Murfreesboro Greenway provided a beautiful shade canopy for our volunteers! They worked about a mile in each direction from the Broad St. Trailhead but there wasn’t much litter to be found and that’s a GOOD problem to have!

Big thanks to Nacho, Jessi, Ronald, June, Ryan, Izzy and Tammy for their help and a SPECIAL shout bout to Ronald and and June who will be celebrating their 60th (sixtieth) anniversary soon! 👏🎉🥳🎊🍾🥂🥰

The first graders at Discovery School worked up a wonderful shadow puppet show to teach others about the endangered birds in Tennessee! Use the QR code or click the link below to watch their project! Let's give them a round of applause!

This year, Discovery School first graders learned about light, shadows, our state bird the mockingbird, and endangered birds in Tennessee.

They put their knowledge together in puppet shows to teach the public about these birds and ways you can help protect them, and hope to spread that knowledge across our community as the Discovery Puppet Protectors in partnership with Barfield Wilderness Station!

Thank you for watching!

The best place to have a Monday is at Murfree Spring and the best people to have a Monday with are volunteers! These beautiful people helped us clean the wetlands this morning. 🥰 They scooped from the boardwalk and cleaned around the litter boom too! It looks great! Thanks, Madison, Teagan, Rosalie and Janelle!

Remember YOU can help by keeping the storm drain near your home free of trash and debris so it doesn’t end up in our wetlands and waterways!
