UPDATE:

Due to the overwhelming generosity of our community, we were able to provide 11 more families fron our waitlist with a thanksgiving dinner box this week. This makes our grand total this year 111 boxes and families served across Rutherford County!

We cannot thank our friends, family, and community enough for their support, kindness, and generosity over the years.

The 9th Annual Glenn Turkey Giveaway has come to a close.

We cannot thank our volunteers, donors, and supporters enough for making this year such a huge success.

Friday night we had about 15 volunteers helping us put together and pack all the boxes.

Today, we had 46 volunteers splitting 18 delivery routes. One of our favorite things about this experience is that it can be a family affair. We love seeing families serve together with their children!!

If you missed the opportunity to give or serve this year, please consider looking into other local organizations who are seeking the community’s help to bridge the hunger gap.

Thursday Update

All 100 of our funded boxes have been assigned and recipients have been notified of their waitlist status. Please check the email you used on the form and your junk folders for the determination.

We truly wish we could serve everyone who applied, but it just is not possible as our waitlist continues to grow year after year.

We know that it can be disappointing to not be selected, and we appreciate your understanding.

Please remember that we are two people who work full time, raising a child, and want to do what we can to help feed families in our community for Thanksgiving.

We appreciate your kind words and understanding.

Those who were randomly selected received a confirmation email, all deliveries will be made this Saturday between 9-11am.

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!

We have been incredibly blessed with some amazing donors this year. We have another friend who is helping us buy the turkeys that will now allow us to deliver ONE HUNDRED Thanksgiving Dinner Boxes this year.

We also want to thank Kiwanis-Murfreesboro, TN for their generosity through not only donations but also their club members' time in helping us pack and deliver each year.

This will be our largest delivery to date and we truly cannot express our gratitude enough to those who continue to support us year after year. While we are able to deliver 100 boxes this year, our waitlist still far exceeds our funding. We are diligently working through the list to assign boxes and notify families of their waitlist status.

We are FULLY FUNDED! 🎉

Between our GoFundMe, direct donations, and food drives, we are now currently funded to deliver 80 Thanksgiving dinner boxes to families in Rutherford County.

Thank you to every person who has given of their money, their time, and their hearts. Thank you for every like and share to help us get the word out. Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts for your continuous support.

We often get asked “How do you find your families?”. The answer is simple. Our families come to us as referrals from family, friends, community leaders, and word of mouth.

We are also asked why we do a waitlist instead of first come, first served. This is to provide opportunities for families who have varied schedules and may not have the opportunity to apply immediately.

We do not require proof of need for assistance. Our only requirement is that the family resides in Rutherford County, TN.

When our waitlist closes, we take time to pray and trust that the right families will be chosen to receive a box. All names are entered into a random drawing to keep the process fair. We know every request matters, and if we could meet them all, we absolutely would.

Each year, our waitlist continues to grow, and we’re reminded how much we rely on the love and support of our family, friends, and dedicated volunteers. We truly couldn’t do this without you!

***WAITLIST IS CLOSED***

Due to an overwhelming response overnight, we have had to close our waitlist early.

Our goal is to provide 80 boxes to families in Rutherford County. We currently have 71 boxes fully funded with over 140 requests on our waitlist.

Deadline to receive donations is November 7th.

We will be contacting families on or before November 8th with the determinations of who on our waitlist have been granted a box. Additional boxes will be assigned out as we are able.
