🦃 10th Annual Glenn Turkey Giveaway – WAITLIST NOW OPEN! 🦃
We are excited to be celebrating our 10th year of helping families in Rutherford County, TN, enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at home! ❤️

Each Thanksgiving Dinner Box is designed to feed a family of up to 6 and includes:
• Frozen turkey
• 2 cans of green beans
• Instant mashed potatoes
• Stuffing
• Cranberry sauce
• Turkey gravy
• 10 frozen rolls

We will accommodate dietary and housing restrictions when we are able.

📅 IMPORTANT DATES:
• Waitlist closes: Sunday, November 1st, at 5 PM
• Waitlist status emails: By Monday, November 9th
• Delivery day: Saturday, November 14th, between 9–11 AM

❤️ A few things to know:
• Families are selected at random from the waitlist.
• Only ONE request per household, please.
• No proof of income or financial need is required.
• All information is kept confidential and is not shared outside of our volunteer delivery driver for delivery coordination.
• The number of boxes available depends on our funding, so submitting a request does not guarantee a box.

Thank you all for your continued support year over year. Our waitlist will open on Friday and typically fills up quickly - so if you’ve been planing on helping us put a thanksgiving meal on the table of a family in our community this year, now is the time!

We often are asked each year:

“How did you get started?”

“Are you part of an organization or church?”

“How do you keep up with it?”

And then we hear things like:

“I wish I could do something like that.”

“I don’t have enough money to do that.”

“I don’t have the resources to do something that big.”

The answer is rather simple for us:

We saw a need.
We tried something.
People helped.
We kept doing it.
It grew.

The Glenn Turkey Giveaway didn’t start out big. Yes, we gave away 116 frozen turkeys our first year and hosted a community event—but when we switched to delivering Thanksgiving dinner boxes in 2020, we only raised enough funding for 38 boxes.

We saw a need: We knew families in our community struggled during the holiday season. Oftentimes, Thanksgiving is overlooked, and when we researched, there wasn’t anything in our area providing turkeys for Thanksgiving.

The need was simple: provide a turkey.

We tried something: The Glenn Turkey Giveaway was born. We wanted a place where our community could come together, have some fun, and leave with a turkey.

People helped: We are so incredibly blessed with an amazing group of friends and family who showed up big time to help us that first year—and then continued to come back and help year after year while adding more amazing friends to the mix.

We kept doing it: Even though it was hard, and we changed our approach a couple of times, we kept doing something.

It grew: The Glenn Turkey Giveaway continued to grow, and now we are celebrating TEN YEARS and have a goal to deliver 125 Thanksgiving dinner boxes this year.

You don’t have to have a lot to start something.

You don’t have to be able to fill every need.

You can’t do something for everyone.

But for that one person or family you are able to help, it could be everything.

Maybe you’ve had an idea for something you’d love to do in your community but you keep thinking you don’t have enough money, enough people, enough time, or enough resources.

Start anyway.

Start small.

See a need. Try something.

You never know what God can do with something that starts with just a little bit of faith and a willingness to say, “I’ll try.”

Donations are Open!

This is our TEN YEAR anniversary and we want to go BIG!

When we set out to provide turkeys to our community all those years ago, we had no idea what it would evolve into.

Our first year, we did turkeys only and gave away 117 frozen turkeys to families in our community. In 2020, we pivoted to providing boxes to make a simple, but complete, meal. Last year, your generosity helped us provide 111 boxes to families in Rutherford County, TN.

We are collecting donations to deliver 125 thanksgiving dinner boxes. Each box is designed to feed a family of 6 and will cost us $35 and will include the following:

* 1 Frozen Turkey
* 2 cans green beans
* 1 box instant mashed potatoes
* 1 box stuffing
* 1 can cranberry sauce
* 1 turkey gravy
* 1 10ct bag frozen rolls

Just like in years past, we will adjust our boxes as needed for those with dietary and/or housing restrictions as we are able.

All donations need to be collected by Friday, November 6th to ensure we have time to purchase the items needed and notify families of their recipient stats. The 10th Annual Glenn Turkey Giveaway will be held on Saturday, November 15th, 2026.

It would be IMPOSSIBLE to pull this off every year if it was not for the kindness and generosity of our family, friends, and strangers. Your financial sacrifice helps put a simple thanksgiving meal on the table of a family in our community.

Free summer meals start Monday! ☀️

Kids 18 and under can eat at MCS feeding sites all summer long. Our mobile sites, CHOW, CHEWY, and MERV, will be out each week with fun activities for kids, too.
