Short Mountain Repeater Club The Short Mountain Repeater Club is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1979 to establish and maintain radio repeaters in Tennessee.

The Short Mountain Repeater Club (W4YXA club call sign) maintains an open repeater operating at 146.910 MHz using a negative offset (146.310 MHz). The repeater is located in Cannon County, Tennessee on top of Short Mountain and is about 60 miles southeast of Nashville, TN (approx. 35 51'38" N 85 58'08" W) at an elevation of almost 2200 feet. It covers a wide area and is open to all licensed amateur radio operators of technician class or higher.

The Info Net

SMRC’s Info Net is the place to pick up those little helpful pointers and tricks that will make you glad you came! If you’re up for a great time, the Old Codger’s Net is the place for you. Grab your radio and dial up the ol’ 146.910 on Monday nights at 8 pm CST and join in. If you are an Old Codger you know what to do! Just key your mic, give us your call sign and your Old Codger’s Number (OCN) and proceed to share the most useless information available with the net. Not an Old Codger, shucks, ain’t no problem; net control has a brand new, shiny, never-been-used OCN just for you. It will be yours for life and you even get a certificate to hang on the wall.
