Brittany Maxwell was a vibrant young Police Officer with the Murfreesboro Police Dept.,stationed at the Franklin Heights Housing complex where she served as a COPS Officer. Inspired by a young child who said Christmas trees were only for rich people, she started the Christmas Tree Project so families could have a tree who normally wouldn’t have one. Unfortunately, she passed away before the projec

t was complete. Her family & friends have decided to take on her project and named it “The Brittany Project” in her honor. The Brittany Project hands out fully decorated trees to Families that might not have or have not ever had a Christmas Tree.

Remembering the beginning, a child telling Brittany they were not excited about Christmas because only rich people had a tree. At that time, none of us could have imagined that her determination to make sure they did not go without a tree would be a blessing for so many.

Brittany would be humbled and overjoyed by all the donations, volunteers, businesses, and organizations that brought her dream to fruition over the past several years. Through your thoughtfullness, we have blessed hundreds of underprivileged children in Rutherford County with the simple gift of a decorated Christmas tree.

After careful consideration and wth heavy hearts, we made the difficult decision to dissolve The Brittany Project. Thank you for joining us on this journey to share Brittany's dream. We could not have accomplished so much without your help and support!

We want to thank our board members, donors, volunteers, businesses, and organizations that have supported us throughout the years. Words cannot express our appreciation for those who gave generously of their resources and time. Each of you played a vital role, ensuring each Christmas organization day & delivery day went off without a hitch, and helped to bring smiles to any faces. We will never forget your kindness.

Please choose and support another worthy cause through your Kroger Community Rewards program.

We wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and Blessings for the New Year.

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our annual Christmas Tree Drive & Delivery. We have also decided not to accept any physical donations for this year. Monetary donations can be made through our website www.thebrittanyproject.org by clicking on the donate button in the top right hand corner.

Given the current ongoing COVID19 situation, we feel this is in best interest of our volunteers and recipients.

Thank you for the continued support and understanding. We wish each of you, a Happy Holiday Season, with continued health and safety.
