We are so grateful for what we are able to do at GNN in Haiti and for the ways we are able to serve our community. We have seen the Lords hand in so many ways this past year and we can't wait to share more about it with you soon!

As the month of November approaches us quickly we are working on creating our prayer points and praise reports to share with you each day. For those who are newer to our page, we take the entire month of November and dedicate it to praying over every area of our ministries, staff, community, church, and the other needs around us. We also take this time to PRAISE THE LORD for all that He is doing and continues to do each and every day.

We will be sharing our prayer calendar with you soon, so please be on the look out for that! We are also looking forward to doing daily live streams with you so you can tune into our prayer points of the day and join us in prayer from wherever you are! We are so blessed to have so many friends and supporters in so many different states and countries!

Know someone else who has been impacted by Haiti in some way? Consider starting a group, a text chain, or daily phone call with 1 other person or multiple who will commit to praying with you each day in November and lifting up Haiti!

Sunday, I (Shelby) had the privilege of getting to teach on childhood development as part of our series on family.

We want our church and community to be built with strong families that are “built” on the Lord, by the Lord for the Lord stemming from Psalm 127.

“Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to those he loves. Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭127‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭

We don’t know much about when Jesus was a child, but Luke 2:52 gives a simple yet profound overview “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

As parents and caregivers responsible for the development of children we need to understand what is important for our children to develop into the people God has created them to be and also practical ways other parents handle the day to day wild of raising kids. They need sleep, nutrition and play to grow physically. They need intentional habits and positive influence to develop intellectually. In order to develop spiritually, with a personal relationship with Jesus, they need to be introduced to Him and modeled how to grow that relationship. To gain favor with man or live as a positive part of society they need to be taught, corrected and given a safe space to learn while making errors.

Here at GNN we know after a personal relationship with Jesus, family is #2 most important for Christians. That is why we see it being attacked intentionally. Gangs forcing families to flee their homes and separate among other homes is taking a huge toll. Education on a variety of forms of discipline and how to effectively correct bad behavior in a way that is heart focused is unheard of. Poverty forcing moms to sell from sun up to sun down means many children are growing up with little parental influence day to day. If we want to see a better tomorrow for Haiti-the family unit has to be at the forefront of the fight.

Two of our staff, Venor and Schnyder have been in seminary in Port au Prince now for about a month. We are excited that they have made the decision to continue their education to become the very best Jesus-followers and leaders they can be. STEP is the seminary that Jameson and I (shelby) both attended. It is a great school affiliated with Dallas Theological Seminary. The total cost for 1 year is about $4720 for the both of them. So far $1500 of those expenses have been covered. These expenses include tuition, housing and an afternoon meal plan. If you are interested in helping these young men study the Bible you can donate in all of the normal ways and mark “seminary” on your donation. 🇭🇹❤️🙌🏽

This past weekend was full of prayer, fasting, and believing for what God is doing and is going to do in Haiti! We along with our board, staff, church, and supporting friends and churches in the US came together to pray over Haiti and believe for MORE! We prayed over our ministries, our staff, our communities, and our church. We prayed over the way God has been working in us and through us, and prayed over what God is calling us to in this next season of ministry. We shouted prayers of praise believing for what God IS going to do in the lives of so many who don't yet have a personal relationship with Jesus. We know that God is a big God who is able to do big things! We have a vision and we know God is about to show up in big ways this season!
We are believing for many lives to be touched, changed and transformed in the name and power of Jesus!

We are fired up, encouraged and motivated for all God is doing and about to do here in Haiti! Thank you to all those who have been partnering with us in prayer! The Lord is so so good!

Psalm 27
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?
2 When evil people come to devour me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
3 Though a mighty army surrounds me,

Reminiscing on sweet summer time over here…

Schools are slowly slowly slowly getting back to it here in our part of Haiti. The federal start date was the first week of September, but with recent shootings in the area most schools pushed back opening at least a week some even a month. Plus, all of the families without the financial ability to pay for tuition, uniforms and books are waiting it out as they pay little by little. This season is heavy and hard for most of the families we work with. We are using this month to help the few with homework but to also focus on main material for each grade level to hopefully give our students a leg up when they do get back in the classroom. ✏️📚

Ahhhh it’s much more fun to look back on the great summertime memory of our kids and staff getting to have a beach day ☀️🌊🏖️
