This is a question we face a lot in our everyday life as missionaries in Haiti.

“Why Haiti?! Why are you putting your lives in danger, when you can serve the Lord anywhere else?”

From where I stand, trying my best to interpret the word of God for what it says-When God calls you to serve him He has a mission for you somewhere to advance His kingdom. This could be anywhere He leads. Nowhere in the Bible does God say “go my beloved where it’s safe, where you’re comfortable, where you got everything under control, where everything is perfectly calculated for your family.” After all, these things might give yourself comfort for a minute, but deep inside you know that there is only one safe place for humanity-it is not a country, not a city, not a bank account, not a government, but in the will of Jesus the Savior.

I believe that we are safer than a lot of people here who don’t even know who Jesus is. Does that means nothing bad can happen to us? Noooo, God never promised that, but he said in the great commission

“I will be with you always”

Isaiah 41:10: "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

And He said

James 1:2-3: "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness."

My brothers and sisters one of the biggest temptations of our time is to be too comfortable. This is not our calling. Don’t try to save yourself because you’re not your savior. We weren’t made to make or accomplish all of the plans-that’s not our job. Our job is to ask the Lord what He wants, read His Word and follow- follow in our everyday habits, follow in the way we spend money, follow in the way we spend our time, follow when making decisions as to where we will live, FOLLOW. Follow like a sheep who has a good shepherd. It just so happens that in our following we have had the great privilege of serving in Haiti. We are seeing beautiful fruit not because we could have worked this out ourselves but because He has invited us in to this work with Him in Haiti and we want to be where He wants us to be.

Be the light and the salt of the world he says. So tell me why we’re so scared of the dark if we’re the light?
Haiti is one of the most dangerous countries right now, satan is using people in every aspect to destroy hope, faith, freedom, even the basic needs. So that is why we are in Haiti. God sees and hears the cries of His people.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few"
Thanks for reading, may God bless you!!!

We are praying that you-right where you are may have your eyes opened to the “mission” that God is calling you to. The place/ministry that is outside of your comfort zone but perfectly situated in serving to advance His kingdom. He doesn’t ask us to have much-just a little faith and a full surrender to do.

We have had a week.

The incredible joy of new life.

The deep sadness of another life that ended this side of heaven without warning.

This is life on earth isn’t it? Simultaneously, joyful and yet full of mourning. Sometimes the hardest of moments are balanced with the sweetest flickers of good. This week has been one of those very odd balancing acts.

The Toyo family welcomed their newest addition, Chloe, into the world late Wednesday night May 20th and then late Friday night May 22nd we received the news of Pastor Doumy’s wife, Emmanuela, of Morija Church passing after a day of running tests at the hospital.

Sè Emmanuela was a woman who always gave 100% of herself to serve her family, church and students. She leaves behind her husband, two sons and a community of people feeling the great weight of missing her physical presence.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21‬:‭4‬ ‭

Thank you for those who had been praying with us for this sweet new life. We are so incredibly thankful for a safe delivery and a healthy mom and baby.

We invite you to continue to pray for us as we navigate the newness of routines and life with another little one. We also invite you to pray with us for Pastor Doumy, their sons Dawins and Oze. The road of grief has only begun and the deep financial burden of a funeral and living without the main source of income for the family passing is heavy. We will update on ways that we can stand with this family in the days/weeks to come.

Community-wide revival, worship and sharing of the Gospel. More than 10 churches from our community plus GNN come together every year to make this week long event possible. Please be praying with us that ears and hearts will be open to accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. May this time be one of spiritual growth and renewal for our community. May the community of Momance, Léogâne, Haiti be set apart for the king of kings and Lord of Lords!!❤️🇭🇹🙌🏽

Bòn Fèt Drapo!!!

Today is the 223rd Haitian Flag Day! There is a lot to mourn concerning the current situation in Haiti, but there is still much to celebrate! The Haitian flag represents freedom and unity for the Haitian people. Today and everyday, we stand with Haiti while also surrendering to the one true king and knowing our ultimate citizenship is in heaven 🇭🇹 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹

Morija kids is getting ready for National Children’s Day the 2nd Sunday in June. This day we focus on how important it is for us to invest and empower our children to be active members in the Christian body or “church.” On this Sunday our children’s ministry will do every part of service. They will lead worship, pray, preach, perform a few creative cultural activities that they have prepared. The story that they have decided to teach on is Zacchaeus from Luke 19:1-10. Here are some of my reflections as I have been preparing the sermon.

Have you considered how Zacchaues is just like you and me? He is a representation of every single one of us who has truly encountered Jesus. We all have sinned. We all have personal things that hinder us from seeing Jesus for who He is. We all have inner and external voices fighting to convince us that we aren’t good enough for the Savior-we may think we need to clean ourselves up a bit before Jesus would be interested in eating with us. It is a lie. He sees us. He knows us with all of our sins. He loves us. He isn’t afraid of what others may say. He isn’t ashamed of our sin. He is ready to meet and eat with us. He is on our team. He is cheering us on when we repent. He encourages us when we right the wrongs we have done. Jesus is for YOU. Your height and sin aren’t stopping him. It’s time… clear out the distractions. Run ahead. Climb the tree. Get yourself in a position to see the king. Once you know Him everything changes. His closeness to us changes everything.

As the Church are we positioning ourselves to see Jesus and get close to Him? Are we getting others voices and our own shortcomings out of the way by listening to His Word? They aren’t complicated. “All you who are weary and heavy burdened come and find rest.” He changes us. We can’t change ourselves. Rest in Him.

Thank you for praying with us for Morija Church. This month Morija is our community outreach project. It is in the process of building a children’s building, but for now we meet under the mango tree. If you are interested in supporting this church you can donate all of the normal ways and mark “Morija”

Here are a few pictures from the first graduation for our Coq Chante professional school from April! Teaching plumbing and electricity is so much more than just equipping our students for a profession. It is hope of an income for their families. It means our students are poured into spiritually and emotionally so that they know whose they are so they can confidently stand in who they are. We have 75 students from a rural community without other local secondary education options now equipped to provide excellence in their profession and whatever else God may put before them.

If you would like to join our support team as we use education as a tool to make disciples of Jesus you can donate through gnnhomeministries.org/donate

You can also sign up to receive monthly newsletters through our website so that you can be partnering with us in consistent prayer.

If you would like to learn more shoot us a message- we would love to talk to you personally.

We are humbled and thankful that God doesn't ask for much to make huge impact. He just needs our genuine yes. When we are ready to give him whatever He has already so generously given us for His work to be done He ALWAYS multiplies it. This right here is a living testimony.

Tomorrow youth leaders camp begins!! Please be praying with us that this time be used by God to bring each person who attends closer to Him. Also, all the things that go with camp-safety, provision and energy as the long hours of 5 days with youth all day and all night teaching, worshiping and playing begin!! 🇭🇹🙏🏽

We are so thankful for each of you who have donated to make this possible both in the states and in our Haitian community. It takes a village to see change and we are so thankful for ours. Thank you for investing in His kingdom!
