We took FULL advantage of a cooler weather day and got some good progress in at the garden. Harvesting and prepping beds for fall plantings.

We’ll get the garlic planted in the next couple weeks and harvest sweet potatoes soon too!

We will have some free seeds and seed starting gear tomorrow at the community garden from 10am-noon.

We do pack up and go home at noon so you’ll wanna come before then.

A small but mighty team of volunteers worked in the garden yesterday! Thank you Devin, Ayla and Woodrow for enduring the heat!

Tomatoes, basil, sunflowers and sweet potatoes are kicking! With more crops coming up for cooler temps.

Lots of goldfinches and common easter bumblebee which is lovely.

Wow today was a hot one! But our team was mighty and we got several tasks taken care of!
• Planted the new herb spiral
• Harvested garlic
• Planted sweet potatoes
• Planted bitter melon, lemon cucumbers, beans and more
• Watered everything
• Weeded a ton

There are lots greens - turnip, kale, chard still harvestable!

27 volunteers worked the garden today! TWENTY. SEVEN!!! And we did a lot!

• Turned the compost
• Placed our new foster fruit trees
• Made progress on the new herb spiral
• Rehomed the seedlings from the old spiral
• Removed a ton of comfrey to the compost
• Cleaned out and reorganized the shed
• Planted some German seeds

In the hunt for cinder blocks for a project at the garden! As close to free as possible. We can pick up. 🤞

What a perfectly warm spring day to garden! We kept some momentum from last week and planted lettuce and chard. Tended to the compost beds. Cleaned up the blueberries. And started the new herb sprial!! It’s gonna be a great season! Thanks to all of our wonderful one volunteers and Jelly the dog for a fun day.
