UPDATE: All animal shelters and hay bales have been picked up!

With freezing temperatures and snow expected in the next few days, we are here to help! A generous volunteer built insulated outdoor shelters using Styrofoam coolers, and they are FREE for anyone caring for community cats, wildlife, or outdoor animals who might need them.

📍 Shelters are available for pickup outside of The JOY Clinic for low cost Spay & Neuter services 507 Jim Draper Drive, Lebanon, TN

Want to make your own shelter at home? Here are a few basics:
• Strong insulation + small interior spaces help trap body heat
• Use straw only (no blankets or towels)
• Keep shelters off the ground and out of wind
• Small door openings keep warmth in and predators out

🏠𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗧 provide proof of 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗼 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 & 𝗦𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹. We will be confirming residence is within the City of Murfreesboro.

If your pet is up to date on vaccinations, we will ask for proof of vaccinations at the time of application. **There might be certain conditions where additional fees will apply. *

Did you know that the library is home to a pet microchip scanner? A local Girl Scout Troop provided the scanner last year, which can be used to identify pets separated from their owners.

There are detailed instructions in the box and a list of local veterinary clinics to help you with next steps should you find a wayward furry friend.

Adopt a Dog: Consider adopting a dog from a local shelter.

offer special events and freebies for dogs on or around National Dog Day.
