TEACHERS FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER AND BOARD MEMBER NEEDED!!!

We're hoping to expand to couple more schools and currently looking for instructors in trumpet, low brass, percussion, voice, and electronic instruments (especially keyboard and guitar, as the school is starting a jazz ensemble). However, any instrument is welcome! If we can’t match you with a student immediately, there’s a good chance we’ll need you soon.

Details:

Time commitment: ~1 hour per week

Students: 1–3 per week, individual or group lessons

Time and Location: During school hours at Whitworth-Buchanan, Oakland and Christiana Middle Schools.

Requirements: Complete applications for both Joyful Noise and Rutherford County Schools + background check (a simple process—just a bit of waiting for approval!)

Additionally, we’re looking to fill a vacancy on our board of directors. This is a one-year term, and we typically meet about four times a year via Zoom.

This past school year 8 deserving students at Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School received free lessons. I think all of the current teachers would agree that it has been such a rewarding experience!
We are looking for more volunteer teachers, particularly in electric guitar and keyboard (for the jazz band), voice, and clarinet. The commitment for teachers is 1 hr per week with 1-3 students per half hour lesson. Lessons will be taught at WBMS during school hours. All volunteers will be subject to a background conducted and paid for by Rutherford County Schools. Would you like to volunteer to teach at Joyful Noise Music Academy? Volunteer private teachers must be willing to donate an hour of their time per week, during school hours, teaching two students for a half-hour each. If you are interested in volunteering as a private teacher, please private message us to receive more information and an application form. We will contact you when we have a need for teachers of your instrument of expertise.
