FCM Cares is proud to announce Alex Ayala as the 2026 Rambo Scholarship recipient.
A Middle Tennessee native, Alex graduated from MTSU with a degree in Mechatronics Engineering and is continuing on to pursue an MBA. With plans to build a career in product design, Alex is focused on creating solutions that solve real-world problems and make a meaningful impact.
“The Rambo Scholarship has made it possible for me to pursue my MBA and continue growing both technically and professionally,” Alex shared.
The scholarship was presented by Megan Chastain, Tricia Pohlman, Samantha Meyer, and Laura Wade. This marks the 9th year FCM Cares has proudly supported the Rambo Scholarship.
Congratulations, Alex. We look forward to seeing all that is ahead.

This month, FCM Cares was honored to support the Indy Honor Flight send-off event, celebrating the veterans preparing to take part in this meaningful journey.
Our dedicated volunteers, including FCM employees Megan Spurgeon, Kim Perry, and Laura Epling, along with Kim Perry’s parents and her husband Guy, had the privilege of welcoming veterans and their families, assisting with dinner service, and helping create a warm and memorable experience ahead of their Honor Flight. The evening served as a powerful reminder of the importance of service, gratitude, and community.
In addition to volunteering, FCM was proud to provide a donation in support of Indy Honor Flight’s mission, helping ensure these impactful trips continue for the veterans who deserve them most.
We are grateful for the opportunity to give back and to stand alongside an organization doing such important work.

We were honored to celebrate the graduates of the United Way of South Central Tennessee Catalyst Program last week.

As the education sponsor for this year’s Catalyst class, FCM Cares is proud to support a program that equips nonprofit leaders with the tools and knowledge needed to strengthen our communities.

We’d also like to give a special congratulations to Jessica Rowlett, FCM Cares Board Member and Post Closing Specialist at First Community Mortgage, on graduating from the Catalyst Program. We are proud to see our own team members continuing to grow as leaders and serve our community in meaningful ways.

Congratulations to all of the graduates, this milestone is just the beginning!

Each year, the Honor Flight Cincinnati breakfast brings together volunteers, veterans, and the community for a meaningful send-off, and FCM Cares is proud to be part of it.
Ashok Ghildyal, FCM loan originator in Cincinnati, is a familiar face at this event, returning year after year to serve alongside fellow volunteers. This year, he also had the opportunity to spend time with Cheryl Popp, who has led Honor Flight Cincinnati for the past 20 years.
From the first cup of coffee to the final send-off through the flag tunnel and bagpipes, it’s a morning that leaves a lasting impression.

During our Leadership Summit, FCM senior leaders spent an evening giving back through FCM Cares at Liberty’s Station in Murfreesboro. Teams rolled up their sleeves to create diaper cakes for Portico, support childhood literacy with Read to Succeed, write personalized cards for residents at the Tennessee State Veterans Home, and assemble hygiene kits for Last Call for Grace.

An evening rooted in connection, purpose, and hands‑on impact—this is what leading through service looks like.
