What does signing the Pike County Local Option Petition mean?

Signing the petition DOES NOT mean you are voting for or against alcohol sales. It simply allows the question to be placed on the November 3, 2026, ballot so that all registered voters in Pike County can decide the issue at the election.

You may also notice the petition includes the options “FOR” and “AGAINST.” You do not have to mark either option when signing the petition. Those statements appear ONLY because that is exactly how the ballot title and wording will appear on the November ballot if the petition qualifies.

If you believe this issue should be decided by the voters at the ballot box, you may choose to sign the petition.

If you do not want this initiative placed on the ballot for Pike County voters to decide, please do not sign the petition.

The petition is about giving voters the opportunity to vote in November—not casting a vote today.

Every signer should understand exactly what the petition does before making their decision.
