This past Thursday night marked the end-of-project show for the Rutherford County Arts Alliance. I had the chance to share my thoughts and a few poems about the Plight of the Dementia Caregiver. It was a fantastic evening that celebrated a wonderful program offering countless opportunities to create art, build memories, share stories, and, most importantly, care for one another. It was truly a terrific series, and we’re excited to build on this year’s success in the months ahead. Thank you Arts Alliance! Mindful Care Adult Day Services - a program of Elders First

We had an absolute blast last year. The Brainiac Trivia was a hit, the energy in the room was incredible, and you just can’t beat that gorgeous view from the Fountains banquet room.

Mindful Care still has a few tables available for this year’s event. Take a look at the flyer, gather your team, and make the call today to reserve your table 615 483 4093

💜 Alzheimer’s is rising across Tennessee, and with it comes an even greater weight on the shoulders of family caregivers. Every year, Tennesseans provide millions of unpaid caregiving hours—often while juggling work, family, and financial strain.
At We Remember You, we walk beside caregivers through this journey.
We offer community, resources, awareness, respite, and—most importantly—hope. No one should face dementia alone, and together we can make sure they don’t.
If you know a caregiver who could use support, encouragement, or simply a place to breathe, we’re here.

A good read with some wonderful insights...

What truly makes life worth living even with dementia? It’s a question that goes beyond symptoms, treatments, and care plans. It’s about connection, meaning, dignity, and moments of joy, no matter the diagnosis.

In this thoughtful piece, Dr. Liz explores what matters most to people as they age:
- Purpose
- Relationships
- Comfort
- Engagement
- Feeling seen and understood

Too often, dementia care focuses only on decline, but life doesn’t have to be defined by loss. With the right support, routines, and understanding, people can still experience moments of peace, laughter, beauty, and connection every day.

Whether you’re caring for a loved one or planning for your own future, this perspective is a gentle reminder that quality of life is just as important as medical care.
