Tuesday, 27 September: Wow, what a meeting! Girls received certificates for their Pinwheels for Peace project, decided to ensure that our schools have record numbers in boxtop & labels for education collection this year, made a whole long list of other service projects they would like to do, and got seriously revved up for mag/nut sales.

Tuesday, 20 September: FINALLY! We are officially up and running again! We are off to a fantastic start. Our troop has doubled since last year and we got things going with a service project. We sponsored our community's "Pinwheels For Peace" project and with the help of the 4th grade, kindergarten & preschool classes, planted over 100 pinwheels to celebrate International Day of Peace.

Wednesday, 14 June: Hooray! All of our Brownies have finished their Quest Journey and the whole troop has made homemade cottage cheese at least once! Today we also read a bit about Japanese culture. Including tea ceremonies, the importance of RESPECT, cherry trees (the ones in D.C. were a gift from Japan), & origami. (who knew the fortune teller games were an ancient Japanese art form?!)

Tuesday, 14 June, Part II: The 2 girls who couldn't make it this morning came up this afternoon and finished their travel journals and therefore their Travel Right badges. Our Daisy finished her Between Earth & Sky Journey. The plan for them for tomorrow involves more cottage cheese, etc...

Tuesday, 14 June: We met at our troop leader's house this morning where we mixed up a batch of pancake batter & she made ebelskivvers for us. Like a pancake except spherical instead of flat. While they were cooking we finished our Brownie Quest Journey. After breakfast we made Kool Aid ice cream and homemade cottage cheese.

Tuesday, 24 May, 2011: Last day of school & our last regular meeting. We played Tapatan, dug some holes in the yard to see what we might find, checked under a rock for good measure, learned a bit about milkweed. We presented our cookie dad with a troop T-shirt to thank him for all the work he does for us (beyond cookies even)...

Tomorrow, Saturday, 7 May, "It's Your Story - Tell It" Premier Party at the Homestead council office in Lincoln. We will celebrate the new Journey series with fun and engaging Journey activities which count toward requirements. But first, we will meet in Murdock at 8:45 to set up our solar oven again so we can cook an egg this time!

Tuesday, 3 May: Today after our opening ceremony we set up a solar oven to see what would melt better: baker's chocolate in the oven or in the sun next to it... then we joined forces with "Donna Daycare" and played Octopus Tag, Rabbit Without a House, Hawks and Hens, Red Light Green Light & Simon Says. Thoroughly worn out, we checked our chocolate before closing circle... the oven won.

Tuesday, 26 April: Finished handing out cookie incentive prizes, Daisy journey patch, fun patches & troop T-shirts for our leaders in honor of volunteer appreciation week. Worked on a design for the perfect Girl Scout meeting place and got started on our Journey toward earning our second Brownie Quest key. Our new Daisy has also earned her Promise Center patch!
