We would like to recognize the Munising Hockey Association as one of our 2019 Grant recipients, who used funds to purchase new jerseys for their 9 & 10 year old hockey team. The MHA board decided to put our logo on the front of the team's jerseys - we think they look great! The ARCF is very proud to partner with the MHA, who provides hockey and ice skating opportunities to youth of all ages! The Munising Bay Trail Network is one of our 2019 Grant Recipients, who used funds to purchase youth bike helmets for their "Trail Kids" Family Ride Program. "We look forward to offering this program annually and introducing the sport of mountain biking to as many people (youth and adults) as we possibly can," says Rhonda Lassila, President of MBTN, "This program encourages people to get outside and live an active lifestyle. In 2019, the ARCF awarded a grant to the "Power of Produce" program, which provides youth in Alger County $2 vouchers to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at the Munising Farmers' & Artisans' Market. "It's fun for the kids to "shop" for their favorite produce," says Treasa Sowa, Market Manager, "the smiles are priceless! Thank you for the opportunity to provide free fruits and vegetables to help families have local access to healthy food." Shown here is Sawyer Sippl, who used a voucher to munch on a fresh cucumber. The ARCF is proud to support this wonderful initiative that encourages our kids to eat more fruits and vegetables!
