Open question to the community - is there anyone local with enough Jui-Jitsu experience to coach an open mat session this summer? Please spread the word or reach out with suggestions.

We will be presenting an award to our latest UP Champ at halftime of the home boys Basketball game on December 12th. It would be great to see extra attendance to support the Basketball team and also to support the current and former UP Champ wrestlers at halftime. Spread the word!

The 2022-2023 High School Wrestling season kicks off with practices on November 14th, from 4-6PM up on the mats. Football players will have a later start date after they win States.

We are also including Middle Schoolers, grades 6-8, in the practices(combined yet separate).

If you know of any girls wanting to join, please let them know that there is now a dedicated post-season for girls only. Quite a few female wrestlers from the UP made it down to Detroit last year for the finals - it's growing!

Congratulations to our four Mustang wrestlers that are graduating today. We have been lucky to have you be a part of Mustang wrestling. Good luck in the future and don't be strangers. The team will miss you Gabe Cole, Devin and Dylan Moore and Bryce Bowerman.

Munising wrestlers are putting together a summer fundraising lawn care business. We have to wait until covid-19 restrictions are lifted through MHSAA and when that happens we will be ready to go.

The wrestlers can mow, w**d wack, clean brush, pull w**ds and stack lumber. This could be a one time thing or you could have them continue to take care of your lawn all summer.

You can donate any amount you'd like for their services and the money will go directly to the wrestling team for expenses they have each season.

We already have one lawn that we will be taking care of so if you want to get on the schedule or nominate someone for us to take care of their lawn you can message Coach Josh on this page or contact him on his personal Facebook as well and he will help coordinate the services.

There will be a parent or coach with the wrestlers.

This is the camp that our assistant coach, Joshua James Trader, runs. It is a huge fundraiser for our program as well as a chance for us to showcase how beautful of a little town we get to call home. Munising is home to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Pictured Rocks Wrestling Camps, where we combine great wrestling with the beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and specifcally Munising! Our 3 regional qualifiers. Devin (with eyes closed) placed 3rd at 152. Devin wrestled the best we've seen him wrestle all season. When asked about how he feels after his performance he said, "it's the best I've ever wrestled and I feel proud." Middle is our district champ, Gabe Cole at 171. Gabe was the 1st seed and finished the day there with a triple overtime win. Gabe said, " I'm tired and looking forward to regionals. Pictured right is Reagan Bowerman at 125. Reagan placed 4th today and said, " I'm tired and proud and cant wait until next weekend."

Our 6 middle schoolers took a trip below the bridge and wrestled in Ga***rd today. All of them had some awesome matches and gained some great experience. We cant wait to see how these wrestlers continue to grow in the sport!!

With an even smaller squad than normal our three Mustangs went a combined, very impressive, 15-0. Congrats to our guy's. You continue to make us proud!

We traveled to Marquette for the UP Finals today. Only had 4 guys competing and two of them made the podium. Gabe Cole finished 2nd at 171 and currently has a record of 22-3. Reagan Bowerman had an outstanding tournament finishing 4th in his first ever UP Finals tournament. Great work by these two Mustangs and all those who competed!!

The calm before the storm. The night ends with a win against Manistique and a loss to Bark River Harris. A great performance on parent night by our Mustangs. Thanks to all the fans that came out!
