Mundelein Stand-Up Task Force “Standing Up Against Underage Drinking & Drug Use Through Prevention”

Underage drinking and drug use are serious problems in Mundelein , as well as in other communities. In fact, the Surgeon General of the United States has declared underage drinking a national public health epidemic. It is imperative that all of us work together to address this very serious health, safety, and well-being risk. The Mundelein STAND-UP Task Force is comprised of community leaders, org

anizations, schools, youth, parents, and neighbors who are very concerned about the health, safety, and well-being of Mundelein youth. These entities are working together to reduce underage drinking and drug use in Mundelein and surrounding communities. STAND-UP works with the Lake County After School Coalition (www.lakecountyafterschoolcoalition.org),the
Mundelein After School Coalition (MASC), and
the Lake County Underage Drinking Prevention
Task Force (LCUDPTF).

National Rx Take Back Day is tomorrow, Sat Oct 24th!

Time to look around your house for unused, expired, or unwanted Rx medicine. Drop off on the first floor at the Mundelein Police Dept anytime or click the link for other locations. Let's keep our kids safe by getting rid of these substances in our home.

STAND-UP is excited to launch a community-wide event to promote Red Ribbon Week October 23-31. We are asking families to decorate their homes or mailboxes with the Red Ribbon theme.

Red Ribbon decoration "kits" will be available for families to pick up at various locations in Mundelein. Kits include Red Ribbon posters, balloons, streamers, ribbons, and a yard sign, etc. Volunteers will drop off "swag bags" with Red Ribbon theme items to houses that decorate as a thank you for supporting the drug-free message (while supplies last). Every house that participates will be entered in a raffle for a $25 Target E-Gift Card.

Registration is not required, but it helps us plan the number of kits to drop off at each location (detailed in the registration form).
