Blind bag contents vary from hunter to hunter and there are endless combinations of gear you can bring with you. Eventually, everyone will find what works best for them. Choices also change throughout the season depending on conditions. Whether you’re hunting for turkey, waterfowl, or deer, here is a basic list of items that will be useful from the start of the season until the end: handwarmers, extra socks, snacks, headlamp, shells (check property regulations on maximum number and types of shells you can bring), first aid kit, ear plugs, sunglasses, water, knife, gloves, calls, and a hat. “Last night while getting out of my stand, with one foot on the top step, I slipped somehow. It’s never happened in the 11 or so years of hunting from a treestand. I still really don’t know what happened other than it was dark and I must have misjudged my reach.
