Check out these Throwback Thursday photos of our Executive Director, Hope Lehman, during her early years of Youth For Christ ministry at Bellmont High School and Delta Middle School.

A lot has changed over the years, but the mission hasn’t. For decades, Youth For Christ has been building relationships with young people, sharing the hope of Jesus, and walking alongside teens through every season of life.

We’re thankful for the countless students, volunteers, staff, and supporters who have been part of the story—and we’re excited to see what God has in store for the next generation.

💙 Were you ever involved with YFC? We’d love to hear your favorite memory in the comments!

During JJM camp, a student asked one of our leaders to pray for his relationship with his dad. Their relationship had become deeply strained, and he was preparing for another visitation and wasn’t sure how it would go.

We prayed that God would bring healing and give them the right words. The very next day, he came back excited to share that they had a wonderful conversation—and that his dad had even apologized.

Since then, he has continued to tell us that their relationship is getting better. Most recently, he proudly showed us a watch his dad had given him, engraved with words reminding him how much he is loved and how proud his dad is of him.

What once felt so broken is being restored. We are grateful to have a front-row seat to the ways God is working in the lives and relationships of the young people we serve.

City Life Director Matt Derby delivered hygiene kits to Northside and Southside Middle Schools to help support students and families impacted by the recent flooding.

We’re grateful to be able to come alongside our schools and care for young people in practical ways when they need it most. ❤️

One of our JJM students hadn’t celebrated her birthday in five years.

Nate changed that.

He decorated, brought cake, and helped make sure she knew she was seen and loved. When the staff and students sang to her, she cried.

Just a few days earlier, she wanted nothing to do with church. Before Nate left, she welcomed him to pray over her.

This is what JJM is about—showing up with the love of Jesus, building trust, and planting Gospel seeds.

Please pray that God continues to grow what was planted in her heart.

Recently, our JJM Director was talking with one of the staff members at the Youth Opportunity Center who is also a follower of Jesus. They shared what they’ve been seeing in the weeks since camp, and their words deeply encouraged us:

“I’d say that camp has really led kids to be more curious about God’s Word and what it looks like to follow Jesus. They really seem to be making the connections of how it can apply to them today. There is a real curiosity about repentance and accountability and the forgiveness that follows. And I do see you coming in more regularly as a way to build rapport/relationships that could very well turn into impactful discipleship!”

What an incredible reminder that camp wasn’t the finish line—it was the beginning.

We prayed that students would become ROOTED in the love of Christ, and we’re now watching God continue that work long after camp ended. The conversations are continuing. Questions are being asked. Hearts are opening. Relationships are growing.

Would you continue to pray for these students? Pray that their curiosity would become conviction, that conviction would lead to genuine faith, and that faith would grow into lifelong discipleship.

Since our Youth for Christ camp at the Youth Opportunity Center, we keep hearing story after story—not only from the students, but even from YOC staff—about the lasting impact God is making in the lives of these teenagers.

Recently, Nate walked onto the YOC campus and found this.

No one asked the students to do this. There wasn’t a chalk art activity. There were no prompts or instructions.

They simply picked up chalk and began drawing crosses, hearts, and messages about God’s love.

These pictures are more than sidewalk chalk. They’re a glimpse into what has been happening in their hearts.

Please continue praying for these young people. Seeds have been planted, and we believe God is continuing the work He began. Thank you to everyone who prayed, gave, volunteered, and helped make camp possible. Your investment is bearing fruit in ways we are still discovering. ❤️
