The Muncie Optimist Club is preparing for our Holiday Sales of brittle, Abbott's caramels and Claxton fruit cakes! However, we have an issue that you may be able to help us with.

As you know, our home the past 2 years has been at MCL inside the Mall for our sales. We need to find a new home for our product sales.

We are looking for a space to sell from Black Friday thru Christmas Eve. It doesn't need to be too large, but it must be a very visible and easily accessed location for parking & ease of driving to. The Club is looking for something either donated or at a low cost and most likely on or near McGalliard or Wheeling. All proceeds fund our Youth programs.

The Muncie Optimist Club showed it's true Optimism today...we had our luncheon as scheduled at First Merchants Bank Downtown Muncie!! A few members showed up more than a little wet.

The good news today was from our program. Tad Finch, the Site Leader and new Regional Director for the Crossing High School spoke about their program. Located in the former Career Center on Elgin Street in Muncie, this faith-based school is more than a standard education.

The school is state accredited and has operated in Muncie for 4 years. The focus is on Academics, Job Training and Faith-Based Character Education. There is no cost for students to attend from 10th thru 12th grades. Check out more on their website at www.crossingeducation.com.

Muncie Optimists had another great program today at our luncheon. Frank Baldwin, CEO of Muncie Mission, talked about not just the Mission, but the homeless population of Muncie.
The Delaware County Housing Consortiuum has been formed and is starting to provide housing for homeless and those trying to re-start their lives from addictions or other issues. The Muncie Hub covers 6 counties and is the entry point for these people in the process.
Houses are established through this program and new housing units are currently in progress for individuals and another for families.

The Muncie Optimist Club finished the Ironman Muncie 70.3 day by assisting in the presentation of awards. It was an extremely wet & muddy Prairie Creek location, but what an awesome site with amazing athletes from around the world.
Thanks to those who volunteered and all the athletes for making Muncie an awesome competition.

Muncie Optimist Club volunteered again this year for the Ironman 70.3 Muncie. So good to see so many tri-athletes come to our community for the 47th event.
Over 1200 participants are registered for tomorrow's event at Prairie Creek Reservoir. Muncie is among the top events in the nation with one of the highest ratings for volunteers by the participants!
It's truly a fun and great event. We are proud to be a part again this year.
