The PTSO would like to highlight the following from Dr. Comber’s newsletter: “On Monday, we will celebrate and honor our incredible educators in recognition of World Teachers’ Day. As a family activity this weekend, I encourage you to write a quick note to an educator who has made a meaningful difference in your life. It might be a former teacher you haven’t spoken to in years, or even a current one! Invite your children to do the same. What a wonderful way for them to see that the impact of a great teacher stays with us long after we leave their classroom.”

Friday, September 18 from 3-6 p.m. at the Burris Backyard, 2201 W. University Ave. (enter Burris parking lot south of the building from Gilbert St.)
Saturday, September 19 from 8-9 a.m. on the Burris East Lawn (on campus parking available)

ACTIVITIES AT HOOT SCOOT

Saturday morning we will have face painting 🎨, yard games 🏈, music 🎵 , and a space to take your own photos! There will be fresh 🍌 and salty snacks 🥨 for participants to enjoy after the race. Please bring your own reusable bottles to fill. 💦

The Burris Hoot Scoot 2026 is on Saturday September 19, 2026. It includes the following events: 5K-Adult, 5K-Student (K-12), 1 mile-Adult, 1 Mile-Student (K-12), Owlet Dash (age 5 and under), and Shirt ONLY—I can’t be there, but I want to support the cause!.
