Jama and Youon truly have a story that has been authored by the greatest Author of all - God. Their paths crossed in early 2013, while on the mission field; their friendship developed over the years; and suddenly, they realized that God had a plan for their lives, and that together, they would serve God by serving and loving His people. Jama and Youon began serving, together, side-by-side, in the
summer of 2015, and were married by April 2016. In August of 2016, they officially launched their outreach ministry - HOPE FOR JAMAICA. Jama is a graduate from Ball State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Legal Assistance Studies and Sociology. Jama is also a Group Exercise Instructor at her local YMCA; and attends Destiny Christian Center International. In addition to serving, her passions include fitness activities, such as biking, walking, hiking, rollerblading, tennis. She also enjoys writing, playing with her grandson, and sharing stories of her travels in Jamaica. Youon grew up in Jamaica, learning as many skills as he could, to gain independence, from the early age of 14 years old. He was a freelance diver in Jamaica, has assisted missions teams with outreach and building projects since he was a teenager; and now lives in the U.S., with his wife, Jama, where he now owns his own handyman business. He is a compassionate, hard-working, honest, trustworthy, loyal man of God. They both have a passion to serve God by serving His people. They feel very fortunate that they have continually been blessed, to be a blessing to others. Their mission is to be a Light to the people of Jamaica, by meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
