Mackenzie visited the Levi Coffin House and Museum with staff member Christy. Being inspired by her trip, she worked with staff member Sarah to create a replica of the house, which she proudly donated to the museum during her visit last Thursday!

We had the best time visiting our friends at Ball Hospital, Bethel Pointe and Waters of Muncie this past September. They always let us know how much our visits mean to them and look forward to us coming back.

Nature club ventured out to the White River to watch new live muscles be released to help clean our water system!

We learned that there are 22 native species of muscles in the White River & their life span is approximately 10-50 years…

Today, the sanitary district released 29 kidney shell muscles and 140 plain pocketbook muscles, along with 119 fin tail darter fish as their host for reproduction.

We also learned that the kidney shell muscle was thought to be extinct in our area of white river, but Sam, the biologist, found 2 live and was able to breed them to make more to release!

Very cool & informative adventure today!

Nature Club visited Christy Woods last week! They walked wood-chipped paths, encountered native blooms & enjoyed the fresh air 🌲🌸 Best quick trail escape, just down the road on Ball State’s campus! 🌿
