As our community continues to recover from the recent flooding and severe weather, we know the impact isn’t only physical. Experiencing a disaster can bring stress, anxiety, grief, and many other emotions.

Join us on Wednesday, September 2 for a mental health resource event where you can:
> Meet with Open Door behavioral health providers to talk through recent events
> Participate in discussion groups and learn about mental health resources
> Meet with schedulers to set up appointments
> Get connected with support resources
> Meet with Open Door’s Indiana Navigators to learn about healthcare coverage options

We’re excited to share that Open Door has been named a national quality leader in diabetes prevention and management by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

The designation recognizes the efforts of our providers and patients to promote good nutrition, pursue healthy weight levels, and keep A1c levels under control.

This weekend begins our Medicaid information sessions regarding the upcoming changes to Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP), including work requirements.

Open Door’s Indiana Navigators will be available at the Whitely Neighborhood Picnic from noon–2 p.m. this Saturday at Union Missionary Baptist to answer questions and provide information.

Stop by or join us at one of the sessions in the community. There are things you can do now to help protect your coverage.

After hearing reports of potential suspicious behavior in downtown Muncie, Open Door placed our downtown locations on lockdown and YMCA location on partial lockdown out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our patients and staff. The lockdown was lifted after law enforcement confirmed there was no threat to the area.

We are grateful to local law enforcement for their quick and diligent response. We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our patients for their patience, understanding and cooperation during this unexpected situation. We know moments like this can be unsettling, and we truly appreciate your trust in us as we worked to keep our patients and staff safe.

The Thrive Credit Union team recently came together to assemble hygiene bags that we will be able to share with patients in our community. This support is especially meaningful right now, as so many of our neighbors continue to navigate the impact of the historic flooding in our community.
