Brian’s impact continues today! What a beautiful way for SMASH & SMOKE BBQ to honor his memory. ❤️
The anniversary of my dad’s passing is coming up in two weeks.
If you didn’t know, my dad Brian Bell, passed away almost four years ago. He was given a disguised pill, that ended up being 100% fentanyl.
He had 10 years of sobriety under his belt. He had dedicated his life to helping others find recovery and hope through a program he started called Road To Redemption. He poured himself into serving people who were struggling because he knew firsthand what it felt like to battle demons.
And overnight, all the years of hard work, all the lives he impacted, and all the battles he fought and won were overshadowed. To many people, he simply became “another statistic.”
But he was so much more than that.
In so many ways, I’ve always felt called to continue doing the good that he did. To love people the way he loved people. To pour back into the community the way he knew was dire to do so.
That’s one of the many reasons giving back has always been so important to us at Smash & Smoke.
Every night after a day on the truck, if we have food left, we donate it. Whether it’s a women’s shelter, first responders, a family in need, or someone simply having a hard day, we try to make sure the love always goes right back into the community.
And lately, the Muncie Mission has been heavy on my heart.
Years ago, my dad went to The Mission. And then he found sobriety.
Tonight, I had the opportunity to show love to an organization that gives so much to those who are struggling in some way.
If you or someone you know is struggling, know that help is out there, recovery is possible, and that we're all rooting for you!
This one's for you, Dad. 🪽♥️
