When people talk about economic development in Muncie and Delaware County, nonprofits are often left out of the conversation.

But they shouldn’t be.

From healthcare and education to youth services and community support, nonprofits employ thousands of people locally, attract outside funding into our community, and help create long-term stability for the region.

In this new op-ed, Jena Ashby explores why nonprofits are more than charitable organizations. They are a major part of our local economy.

What a special evening 💛

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Nonprofit Summer Social, helped us celebrate our ribbon cutting, and welcomed us into this next chapter for Nonprofit Support Network.

It meant so much to fill the space with conversation, connection, laughter, and so many familiar faces from across our community.

We’re excited to have a space that feels like home, and to continue creating a place where nonprofits can gather, learn, collaborate, and support one another.

We can’t wait for everything still to come ✨

Today was a busy day!

We started the morning off early presenting at Muncie on the Move, worked on planning this year’s Nonprofit Summit, headed over to WoofBoom to record an episode for Porchilght Radio, hosted the Resource Development Huddle, and worked on developing more health insurance related connections.

All so our local nonprofits can thrive!

 Tonight we rest.

Tomorrow we see all of you for our Summer Social at our new office from 4 to 6 PM.

This week, we hosted the Quarterly HR Series Training. Kourtney McCauliff of Purple Ink uses themes identified through HR Help Desk requests to shape each session. Wednesday’s training, titled ‘Finding the Right Fit,’ helped organizations evaluate job descriptions, refine recruiting strategies, and map the hiring process.

We had a great conversation during yesterday's Lunch & Learn about how Indiana nonprofits can access stronger health coverage options through a Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA).

One of the biggest takeaways: by pooling resources with other organizations, small and mid-sized nonprofits can often access competitive rates and benefits typically associated with much larger employers.

If you want to learn more about the Indiana Nonprofit Benefits Trust MEWA and explore whether it could be a fit for your organization, visit:
