Human Library Central Indiana

🍂 It is a beautiful fall day to read a book!

Come visit us at Minnetrista Museum & Gardens to learn about the Human Library and what makes our organization so impactful. And check out a book while you’re at it!

Come check out a book today at Minnetrista!

📚🌿 Every person has a story. Come hear one.

Join us Sunday for the Human Library Project at Minnetrista, where meaningful conversations invite us to see the world through someone else’s eyes. 💬💛

Instead of checking out a traditional book, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with human “books”—people who share their personal experiences and perspectives. Ask questions, listen with an open mind, and take part in conversations that challenge stereotypes and encourage greater understanding.

Difficult questions are welcome, and every conversation is an opportunity to learn something new.

📅 Sunday, October 11 | 1–4 p.m.
📍 Oakhurst Gardens, Minnetrista
🎟️ Free Community Event

Come curious, stay open, and discover the stories that bring us closer together. 🌿✨

Today's the Day!!!!!!!

Jim and Amy filled up their Human Library library card and walked away with a travel mug!

How does this work? You come to a Human Library event and get a library card. Bring it back the next time and get it stamped again. Two more and you are awarded some merch! Bring a friend, get 2 stamps!

We have always said that coming to a Human Library event is very rewarding!

📖👀 How do I become a Reader at the Human Library and where can I find events in my area?

The Human Library has events all over the world, through our Depots and Publishing Partners, we host events for everyone to join as a Reader.

📍 Currently, we have Depots in Australia, the US, Germany, Switzerland, the UK and Denmark.

If you are not close to the Depots, we have Publishing Partners who are licensed and trained by the Human Library. We usually partner with local institutions and organizations. To organize, you need to apply via our website, humanlibrary.org. The link for becoming a Publishing Partner can be found here: https://humanlibrary.org/human-library-organizers/publishing-partner/.

Through the Human Library Online platform, you can read Books anywhere and choose the Title you’re interested in. Here, you can from all over the world. 🗺

💻 Every month, we host a Public Online Reader’s Corner on Zoom. As a Reader, you’ll join a small group in a reading room, meet a Human Book, and take part in two 30-minute conversations. The event is 2 hours total.

Interested in coming to an event, but unsure if there's one in your area? You can always reach out to us, and we can guide you further. 💬🧡
